What to Say When You Sneeze?

My mother is giving me a bad time about saying bless me. After I sneeze I say "Bless Me". I have done this since I was a young girl. Why my mother never caught on then is beside me. She says it rude of me to ask someone to bless me after I sneeze. I however have never viewed it as asking anyone anything. I always said it quietly and took it as blessing myself, not asking others do it for me. Am I wrong. Is my saying "bless me" making people uncomfortable. Or is my mother picky.

What does your mother say when she farts? Perhaps she should be taken down a notch as well.

Nothing myself, but my ex- used to scream HORSESHIT as she expelled the grossness. With some practice she turned it into a passing approximation of AHCHOO. Try it, it's fun - and better if you turn around and apologize innocently.
