How do I find out the value of an old magazine?
The magazine is THE AMERICAN published in August 1956 by The Crowell-Collier Company in Springfield, Ohio. The publishing company does not exist anymore. The publication of this magazine stoped in December of 1956.

The individual ads might be worth more. You could sell them one by one, prices varying on what they're for.

Whateve the price is on the cover, that's what it's worth. Or less.

If there's any ads for feminine hygeine products in it I'll pay you five dollars.

Very few old magazines are worth anything. Old "Life" magazines are generally collectible. Some old "Saturday Evening Post" are, too, if they have Norman Rockwell covers.

Chances are very slight that the "American" has a rabid following of collectors willing to pay top dollar for fine old specimens crammed with... uh, whatever it is the "American" was crammed with. Now, if you had Volume 1, Issue 1 of "Playboy" with Marilyn Monroe, you'd have something.
