Has Anyone Ever Actually Seen Blues Brothers 2000?

I find it hard to believe. When i think about that movie it almost seems like it was something i had a dream about and not an actual movie. But i know that it actually exists in the human world. I would love an eyewitness account. If it's not too painful. Or maybe you know someone who saw it. If so, how are they doing now? Are they okay?

I saw it at the cinema. It wasn't much cop, no.

It's bad. Very, very bad.

I only saw bits and pieces of it one night when it was on TV. Not only was it painful to watch (and thus I turned away after a few minutes), but I was really embarassed for the people involved, like Aretha Franklin (I saw the scene where she breaks into Respect). It's best to believe it doesn't exist.

Okay, which band did you take those lyrics from?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 21 February 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually, the HUGE FUCKING CAR CRASH scene is superior to the one in the original movie. Also, Dr.John's cover of "Season Of The Witch" is brill, and the final music scene is pleasantly insane (it's got EVERYONE in it! Koko Taylor and Gary US Bonds on backing vocals!)

Dan Akroyd's "if we don't go out and play the blues, the youth of America will have nothing but soulless techno and gangsta rap" speech made me want to kick him in the jimmy.

That's kind of funny, considering Aykroyd directed a movie with Tupac in it.

Michael Daddino (epicharmus), Saturday, 21 February 2004 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

(And that he was in a movie with both Kool Moe Dee and Britney Spears. OK, obviously not the same kinda thing, but oh, what a factoid!)

I'm sorry, but this movie wasn't even close to as bad an idea as Slap Shot 2: Breaking the Ice.

Reviewer: Scott Oakes (see more about me) from Brooklyn, NY United States

Of the 3 films in the MVP trilogy, I think MXP might be the best. I watched this one with a few friends before
going out on a Saturday night. The comic hijinks of Jack and the other monkeys, as wells as the complete
aloofness of every adult in the movie who fails to see Jack climbing trees, eating food, and sneaking onto
airplanes dressed in a sombrero and pancho is incredible. This film sells itself. 1 monkey + 1 snowboard =
awesome. Is MXS (Most Extreme Surfer) next? I hope so.
