What's your laugh like?

Inspired by seeing Ned had just put the "Ponce... For a girl" sequence in the CIRCLE JERK thread, and wondering what noise he'd made to necessitate the posting of it.

Oh, trust me, you don't want to know. It's a bit weird and omnipresent after almost everything I say.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 21 February 2004 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have two laughs, essentially, depending on how much I'm losing my shit. The first is my 'evil supervillian' deep+dirty gutteral chuckle, and the second is this kind of hysterical high-pitched squealing that sounds like a stuck pig in a caravan.

Some people laugh through their noses
Sounding something like this "Mmm..."
Some people laugh through their teeth goodness sake
Hissing and fizzing like snakes

Some laugh too fast
Some only blast - HA!
Others, they twitter like birds
Then there's the kind
What can't make up their mind

When things strike me as funny
I can't hide it inside
And squeak - as the squeakelers do
I've got to let go with a ho-ho-ho...
And a ha-ha-ha...too!

God, stop laughing.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 21 February 2004 20:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm interested in a recording of Ned laughing, after all the advance press on it. Congratulations.

As for my own laugh... eh. It's, like all other laughs, better experienced than explained.

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:40 (twenty-two years ago)

what about God's?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

God's laugh is in all of us, as we are all made in His image.

(Thus says one of the rare Christians on this forum....)

Many Coloured Halo (Dee the Lurker), Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:44 (twenty-two years ago)

well done.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I scare people when I laugh. My laugh is like
HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! huhuhuhuhuhh......hehHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!huhuhuuuhuhh....
People's responses:
MY GOD! I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA THROW-UP!
Are you okay???
Do you have the hiccups?
It's...really...not...that...funny...

I rarely laugh though. Approximately once a month...

natasha lushina, Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:52 (twenty-two years ago)

my joke was good but no-one is laughing.

except God.

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 22 February 2004 02:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Sort of high and giggly and girly. It's kind of embarrassing in a way.

sundar subramanian (sundar), Sunday, 22 February 2004 06:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Like a debutante being tickled in a wind tunnel.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Sunday, 22 February 2004 06:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I laughed too loud at a party last night, it was hella embarrassing.

Dan I., Sunday, 22 February 2004 06:52 (twenty-two years ago)

It was like your typical HAHAHA except with a strangled sort of *choking* sound at the end where I realized it was like twice too loud.
Groan.

Dan I., Sunday, 22 February 2004 06:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Too many years of clicquey injokes with my equally smug and superior peers have left me with a sarcastc bark which sadly is my laugh even when I find something genuinely funny. My tone of voice is persistently sneering, too. A shame, really, but y'know, I made my own bed etc etc.

Matt (Matt), Sunday, 22 February 2004 11:09 (twenty-two years ago)

My laugh is somewhere between Krustys laugh and a castrated machine-gun.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Sunday, 22 February 2004 16:08 (twenty-two years ago)

How do you get that?

Aja (aja), Sunday, 22 February 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Laughing out loud: a rather coarse "HAW HAW HAW"
Chortling: a quiet, dove-like sound.

Ned's laugh is sort of a baritone Popeye: "Ah-huh-huh-huh"

j.lu (j.lu), Sunday, 22 February 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I YAM WHAT I YAM.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 22 February 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Laughing a short time: almost a ha ha giggle

Laughing a long time: a broken up, pain cry giggle from a cat tickling and scratching me

Aja (aja), Sunday, 22 February 2004 16:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know (really).
Perhaps I should set up a camera nexxt time I watch Simpsons or something

cuspidorian (cuspidorian), Monday, 23 February 2004 06:33 (twenty-two years ago)

From what I'm told my chuckle is a high-volume Krusty the Clown/old-style Eddie Murphy hybrid that occasionally tapers into Muppet-on-LSD maniacal giggle territory.
