I have explained to my mum earlier, that although my dad hasn't got long left, I'm still not going to visit the worthless piece of shit. She divorced him 27 years ago and isn't judging my casual attitude towards this soon-to-be cadaver. My younger brother who smokes a lot of weed has bowed under the familial social pressures of the situation despite telling me he wouldn't do it. The only thing I learned from him was to strive not to be him, and I probably failed on some counts - but not as much as that cunt did.

I can take flaws, and there are worse people than he was. But his flaws: petite snobbery, his all consuming concern of what the catholic mafia thought of our rag-tag family. Like the half sister my mum had when she was 15. I just know I'm not going to regret seeing him for one last time.

My only nostalgic moment is when I had a drug-dealer friend bringing lots of dangerous chaos to our home. He pulled me aside one night and said "I'm not an idiot I know what is going on here..
