I sorta just got shot

I was walking down the street with headphones on, dressed fairly conservatively and minding my own business at 11:40am, when all of a sudden a 6'3" biker guy with hand-painted flames on a pleather jacket runs across two lanes of traffic and hops onto the pavement in front of me. He raises his left hand to the middle of my forehead, makes a 'gun' with his forefinger and thumb and screams

BANG

at the top of his voice before jerking his wrist into the air like it'd recoiled from the kick. I would have suspected that he was drunk, but the non-assault was far too coordinated, and he walked with a calculated big-dick swagger, and the whole thing seemed to casual to be coked-up weirdness.

Scared the crap out of me.

Hm. Throw a brick.

I would have, but I had to go home to change my pants.

Yell prime numbers at the top of your lungs back next time. That's what my friends and I do when drunk people scream things at us.

Just know that he will be tormented by visions for his entire life and that he'll die penniless and alone. How do I know this you ask? I've had it arranged.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Monday, 23 February 2004 21:08 (twenty-two years ago)

by the way the thread title confused me about whether to be scared for you or not!

This, if nothing else, assures this man suffers much misfortune.

That's what you get for dressing conservatively, Mister Fancypants.

There's a mentally ill guy that hangs out by our office that shoots me occasionally with his finger, yelling "Blam! Blam!" very violently. I'm just glad California has a waiting period.

andy, Monday, 23 February 2004 21:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I forgot to mention that he was at least fifty-five and hanging out between a comic book store and a shop that sells nothing Magic cards, and he smelled like baby wipes.

The Second Drummer Drowned (Atila the Honeybun), Monday, 23 February 2004 21:19 (twenty-two years ago)

This reminds me of a homeless guy who 'lives' around my area. I often see him at the local supermarket where he buys about 20 packets of babywipes at a time. I always feel really sad when I see his efforts to keep himself clean.

Or maybe he just goes around cleaning random manky kids

Just tell him that if he ever EVER fucking pretends to shoot you in the head, then are NOT going to hesitate at all in posting about it on the internet.

I say that you need to just enjoy it as much as possible. Face it, in a year that guy is probably going to be shooting himself for real. And that's why life is rad.

The Nomads and Angels in Canada always do that kind of thing to random harmless looking people, sometimes with the gun-finger, sometimes with a fist (fake punch). Not to say that you look harmless, but this is ILX. If you ever see him again, tazer him or run him over.

Dude, I totally imagined that in Japanimation-vision just now; Unrest's "Corpse Pose" playing in the background and all. Free-kay.

I guess I am easily frightened, Tombot. And here's another thing that frightened me:

I was walking around near MIT today when three ambulances screamed down Mass Ave and swung down the street toward me. They pulled up at a building across from me and (obviously) drew my attention to a guy with a chest-wound sitting on the steps of an apartment. Blood all over him, but the guy was calm, still, normal as could be. Three EMTs hopped out and a fire engine pulled-up to block my view.

I'm becoming convinced that the universe is conspiring to make me house-bound. Two days, two seperate minor traumas. Can't wait for tomorrow.
