It's really hard to articulate properly on these kinds of threads. She makes ILE a really nice place to be. If I knew her in real life I would be shy around her, but I would want to get over it quickly so we could hang out.

She's very perceptive.

maryann, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Very thoughtful, speaks her mind, a good sense of humor -- fine qualities all. :-)

MORE ABOUT MARIA! SHE'S ACE!

rainy, Thursday, 18 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I didn't post to the "who do you like/dislike" thread, but I was certainly going to mention Lyra/Maria. Her fairy tale/glam obsessions are most definitely ace. Maybe it's the age difference, since I'm old enough to be her grandfather, but I always look forward to her posts. Is she the only IL* contributor still in high school? I really like to hear her high school anecdotes.

GO MARIA!

I think what Rainy said at the top is very lovely I must say. Noone can top that.

Ronan, Friday, 19 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

marai is very sweet , i mean that she seems kind and stuff.

anthony, Friday, 19 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I heart Stevie T. He is lovely. He makes me shy. I don't know if I want to meet him in real life or not. He seems beautiful - but sad. I think he is sensitive. He is the kind of boy who probably enjoys rainy days in the fall. I would like to listen to Belle & Sebastian with him on a day like that. But I am too shy to ask him.

the pinefox, Friday, 19 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

That's beautiful, pinefox. Would you be my friend?

Sean, Friday, 19 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I feel cheery now :)

rainy, you might be shy around me, but i'm generally a shy person myself. so we'd both have to get over it fast.

four years pass...
Maria -- how do people refer to study abroad at Wi11i@ms? "Study abroad" or "foreign study"? Or both? Because both are used on this page, and people think I'm nuts for using the terms interchangeably, as we did when I was at a small liberal arts college 5+ years ago. (To clarify, said people have never heard "foreign study" as an acceptable variant.)

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 24 March 2006 18:18 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...

The New Yorker reviews a history of American whaling.

jaymc, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 01:43 (eighteen years ago)

one month passes...

Hey I missed the revivals! They say study abroad, not foreign study, to very belatedly answer your question. And thanks a lot for the link!

Maria, Monday, 20 August 2007 21:14 (eighteen years ago)

No prob!
