What's wrong with bigamy?

And how does it affect the slippery slope argument that some use against the gay marriage amendment?

I could really give a shit if more than two adults want to draw up some sort of civil agreement and call themselves a family. But bigamy underscores the problem we have with the state codifying and manipulating marriage and other non-fraudulent issues that affect families. Why can't marriage be a union of more than two people?
