What category do FAPs belong in? I put this in "friendship".

So, yeah, I'm 30 on the 16th March, which is a Tuesday. So I want you all to FAP me please. Who's with me?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:14 (twenty-two years ago)

so be it

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy buffday & all that, wish I could make it!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:38 (twenty-two years ago)

My thread! My thread's, like, dead!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Awww, there there!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:50 (twenty-two years ago)

I got you a tumbleweed for your thread

.............................0...................................

chris (chris), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You shouldn't have.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:53 (twenty-two years ago)

it was the least he could do

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Markel(manincorduro...), fap away merrily.
30's a fine age to be (me recalls hazily)
's a pity I'm too far away, verily.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Thursday, 26 February 2004 12:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course you will be attended, Marco me old mucker. Just keep the AFC Wimblingdon chatter down to reasonable levels.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 26 February 2004 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Meta - IL* Events is the usual home for FAP threads.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:01 (twenty-two years ago)

So where will the FAP be? Come on, make a bold statement so we can judge you based on your preferred London location for FAP-ing, etc. etc. Of course I'm there. So long as it's not out of Zone 1. ;-)

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Soho, cos that's where I work and is obv the centre of the Universe. Perhaps it should be in the Intrepid Fox, so that when stevem turns up in a tie it'll get cut off.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha! Then I can really Goff out! let's have a Goff FAP! We all dress like silly batty-bats and Starry Sarah turns up in a suit!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

tie-envy does not become you Marcus

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

RoX0r FAP!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Every FAP is a goth FAP.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I was joking about the Foxxx, to be honest.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Pint Pot? ;)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

F#ck off

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

could this be the fabled wetherspoons FAP?

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:14 (twenty-two years ago)

it should be at the turnpike and scrote in Colindale, I hear they do lovely panninis, not to mention Chicken pasta

chris (chris), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:15 (twenty-two years ago)

it's in my diary...

and if it's a goth FAP, anna can wear her special new goth shirt she got from me! wow, more clothes swap wearing!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:16 (twenty-two years ago)

It's "prezzies".

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Ha ha, there's a Weatherspoons on Southampton Row that HSA really wants to go back to! it's massive! And cheap! And cheaply massive! (I will refrain from making the obvious joke.)

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:35 (twenty-two years ago)

do you mean the one at the top of kingsway? (haha, like the description "cheap and massive" diffentiates one wetherspoons from all the others...) i had lunch there with some co-workers, not bad as far as these things go...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, that would be the one, Shakespeares Cock or whatever it's called. Cheap and massive, what I like in a woman and in a pub!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Not the Penderel Oak? Me and Madchen saw mice in there. (radical fringe reworking of "Cats", obv)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 26 February 2004 15:32 (twenty-two years ago)

You have built it, and I will come.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Meta IL* events

A lot of idiots put them in the drinking category, though. This is because they are idiots.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah! what do they think we do at FAPs, drink? idiots...

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:34 (twenty-two years ago)

I was joking about them being idiots, obv. 'Meta: IL* events' doesn't exactly leap out at you.

But the idea is that the non-meta threads are subject based. ie. 'drinking' means threads about drink and drinking, not announcements of events that include drinking.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

N OTM!

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

n.b I am a librarian, and correct categorisation means alot to me.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:37 (twenty-two years ago)

But not correct spelling!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, spelling can go jump.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

(jel, I thought you were a library assistant for some reason - are you qualified now, or are you just using the word loosely?)

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:43 (twenty-two years ago)

but what did I spell wrong, unless you are pulling the old alot a lot thing.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:44 (twenty-two years ago)

i feel bad that i haven't categorised any of my threads for about a year now

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:45 (twenty-two years ago)

(I'm still a library assistant, but I'll be qualified once I complete my boring information management MA)

oh, might come to this FAP, if it's central.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry - I didn't realise you were sticking with Ronan on the 'alot' thing. Yes, that's what it was.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:48 (twenty-two years ago)

If you can arrange to FAP this in LA, I'd be delighted to attend.

luna (luna.c), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Categorising my threads is my favourite part of starting new threads!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 26 February 2004 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't even want to talk about categorising threads because if I get started I will just on an endless rant and people will laugh at me taking this all waaaay too seriously.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Thursday, 26 February 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

i am intending going to spain around then. i may investigate going via london just for you mark. yay!

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

"going to spain".

Of course you are coming Ailsa!

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

No really, i was going to visit my mum for mothers day. But I could go via London just for Mark. If I can get time off work, that is....

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

I fear you may not realise the ph34rful implications of the phrase "going to Spain" for London ilxors, Ailsa.

(It implies the ultima Thule of ultima Ruin.)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

i have heard the rumours. it is probably less ruinous than my red wine fixation let loose in the home of rioja though...

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 27 February 2004 00:50 (twenty-two years ago)

red wine in Spain is so cheap & fantastic, you will indeed hit ruin Ailsa!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 27 February 2004 09:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Does this mean that we can all call you Ste? Or even better St? Pronounced like "Stuh"?

Those drinks were gooooood. Cherries and all. Just wish they weren't so damned expensive! We should have gone to the Doghouse instead, two for one ice cream cocktails, mmmm.

The River Kate (kate), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I should have bought him the "I did Justin three times" t-shirt.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i love lab, although i can't afford it. my flatmate and i spent [insert obscene amount of cash] there a few weekends ago.

re the doghouse: is it even open at the moment?? i thought it was closed pending reopening as "suga suga"? also it's never had a late license, has it??

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

"Y'see, his name's Terry Waite, right, and he had to wait a long time to be released, and now he's put on loads of weight, DO YOU SEE???"

Matt, you didn't credit me with this!!

Amanda is at least half-right: Mike looks great in that picture, all glowing. (I don't.)

Caption: um... Mike is saying "No, I can't put any more delay on it -- I've put it all into Stevie's camera".

Elton Welsby, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:45 (twenty-two years ago)

But Elton you have Clientele-levels of reverb on your image!

Caption: "But Paris St. Germaine are still one of the Great Clubs of Europe!"

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 20:53 (twenty-two years ago)

"How does it feel, then, filling Graham Coxon's shoes?"

Mooro (Mooro), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:30 (twenty-two years ago)

(er, belatedly, Matt - cakes are all yours! Your reward for saving the twee box from abandonment. I hope you like 'em.)

cis (cis), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Haven't been to the Doghouse since last November. Only ever went there for our bassist's birthday parties and things like that, but man, those ice creams. Lab is lovely, but ouch, the bill hurts. I mean, it looks Freuds look affordable by comparison!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I've already eaten the cakes. I couldn't wait for permission. Sorry.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 March 2004 09:13 (twenty-two years ago)

There's a Darkness joke in there somewhere but I'm not going to be the one to make it!

The River Kate (kate), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Luckily your birthday meant you missed the appaling crowd trouble at the AFC game on Tuesday.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:39 (twenty-two years ago)

get your hands off of my cakes, motherfucker.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

i believe in a thing called muffins

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

I guess you're looking for something like Permission to Viand.

i should get off the internet.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes Ken. Poxy fule.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 18 March 2004 10:57 (twenty-two years ago)

don't try it liz

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 11:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Eep.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Fear the wrath of Chu.

cis (cis), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely Chthon?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Woah, geek joke.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:48 (twenty-two years ago)

surely bacCHUs

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

woah, greek joke.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 12:55 (twenty-two years ago)

you're both better than that

oh, wait....

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:16 (twenty-two years ago)

http://www.geocities.com/r_gillanders/winchester.txt

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:23 (twenty-two years ago)

is this what Sinister was like?

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

he has succumbed!

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 13:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Mooro, I have never seen Coxon's shoes. I am trying to work out why Mike would be asking that; or why I would be asking it of him. (Mike's shoes always seem very carefully selected to me.)

I was thinking about THE GREAT CLUBS OF EUROPE yesterday and PSG were precisely one of the names that I added to the list. (Other French members, maybe: Bordeaux, Marseille, possibly St Etienne.)

the bluefox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

What about Spurs?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

the winchester?

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:09 (twenty-two years ago)

did you make up your mind on Feyenoord?

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Tottenham are in.

I don't know enough about Feyenoord - I am taking your word for it, Cabbage.

I like RJG's thoughts. Or words.

the fourfox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:44 (twenty-two years ago)

about feyenoord?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

far too much lenience with the definition of GREAT CLUBS OF EUROPE imo. if you're going to include Bordeaux then the list must consist of around a hundred teams. For me it's:

Real Madrid, Barcelona
Juventus, AC Milan, Internazionale
Bayern Munich
Liverpool, Man Utd
Ajax

and THAT'S IT

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

maybe Benfica

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 14:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Feyenoord I was doubtful about to be honest.

There's more than that Steve - especially on The Lynx effect guy's list

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

is that what he's reading in that advert where the ladies' clothes keep coming undone?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

That's the feller

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Its great later in the ad when her top comes undone because the bloke suddenly gets erect and it has the effect of poking her eye out.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

damn, it's strange to only get like 10 minutes a day on the internet, since i'm sitting in a juice bar near my house tapping away.

i've never been called col, unless it's pronounced cole, in which case it didn't stick. lette worked much better.

i think it's funny that we actually say stevem, is the fact that we make his name extra long saying that we're under-familiar with him?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

i don't want to play with your name like it's a toy, lette...

and it should be Mr Stevem, Keeper Of The Creek to you

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

You can keep shit creek. Last time I went up it someone nicked my paddle.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

I aint even got a canoe :(

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

P F: are you a guitarist & songwriter, and are you in (a) Blur?

Mooro (Mooro), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:01 (twenty-two years ago)

i think really we're all looking for our own canoe in life

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i tend to barge my way through life instead

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

you silly punt

chris (chris), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

I get the blur thing now.

Mooro's always making with the wordplay. He's the Robert Robinson of Rock; the Dotty Parker who's not Laura Llew.

the bellefox, Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I saw that Lynx ad again last night. My word, that guy really IS the Pinefox!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

but played by an actor

stevem (blueski), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:21 (twenty-two years ago)

that ad has the most annoying song i've heard this decade on it

stevem (blueski), Monday, 22 March 2004 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)
