so somking in movies/TV means they didn't smoke in real life? Does that mean like there's some thrick cigarettes or ways to smoke them that actors use?

Random Sample:

Beth Orton (actress)

Has smoked "in real life" (IRL) = Probably, unconfirmed
Quit = Probably has
Profession = actress

Proof she has smoked (or quit) "in real life"

"lighting a cigarette as she sits on a couch", Los Angeles Times, Mar. 8, '98

"back in London she started going out with dance avatar William Orbit, whom she met when she cadged a cigarette from him at a club where he was DJ-ing", The Times (UK), Feb. 27, '99

"she also smokes a lot of dope ... Orton smokes a fag, eats cake and flops her body, all limbs and fringe, around a Cobden Club couch", The Observer (UK), Mar. 7, '99

quit - "she repeatedly blames her tiredness on having just given up smoking", The Guardian (UK), Jul. 5, '02

quit - "On her new album, Daybreaker, Orton's voice is richer and more emotional than ever, with the addition of an attacking edge we haven't heard from her before. 'I stopped smoking making this album,' she says", The Times (UK), Jul. 20, '02

"'I used to think I was going to be a comedian, but I ended up being this miserablist,' says the British-born Orton, smoking a cigarette and slurping an anti-oxidant smoothie ... Orton is now haranguing people outside the juice bar for a match. 'You smoke?' she asks a passerby. 'No? Well, do you know any hypnotherapists, then?'", Newsweek, Aug. 19, '02

"at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Monday night, she suffered from an attack of the splutters, allegedly brought on by an attempt to give up smoking. 'A piece of advice for anyone who wants to start singing and is thinking of giving up smoking - don't,' she warned after a particularly nasty frog in her throat. She would have done well to heed her own advice, or at least sneaked a quick puff before she came on stage. She coughed and croaked her way through her new album, Daybreaker, with all the enthusiasm of a dying woman", Sunday Times (UK), Oct. 20, '02
