strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Friday, 27 February 2004 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh fuck, that guy looks nothing like Dale Earnhardt. But it could be worse, I was afraid it was Travolta. I suppose it's only a matter of time before the Hollywood big-screen Earnhardt movie gets made, the prospect of which makes me ill.

I knew Dale Earnhardt, Dale Earnhardt was a friend of mine.. etc.

I wonder if Robert Duvall will reprise his role as the grizzled NASCAR builder in the epic "Days of Thunder"?

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Duvall? He used to be the "actor's actor" and now he only does shit-ass Touchstone-Costner type pics. I heard The Apostle was good, but what else has he done worth seeing in the last five years?

woah - they cast a Canadian was Earnhardt?

cinniblount (James Blount), Friday, 27 February 2004 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Since Jesus flicks are "in", he'd actually make a passable Jesus. (innuendos fully intended and open to reinterpretation...*tick* *tick* *tick*.... NOW!)

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 27 February 2004 18:03 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Intimidator"

Pepper could probably play Varg Vikernes in "Lords of Chaos - the Movie".

Duvall directed/starred in another movie that came out about a year ago, where he played an assassin. I think it was called "Assassination Tango"? It got pretty bad reviews.

He plays the manager of a fictional Scottish provincial football team who get to the Cup Final against the odds in A Shot At Glory. I haven't seen it, but assume it to be rubbish. I have, however, seen a clip and can confirm that Duvall's Scottish accent is rubbish.

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 28 February 2004 14:59 (twenty-two years ago)

my mum and dad are in that movie.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 28 February 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

So is about half of Scotland, I think! I believe they got more people into Hampden to film the cup final scenes than Scotland have managed for years (Holland and Germany games excepted).

I think I may get this film out of the video shop this weekend for a laugh, and to spot all the footballers being extras. Escape to Victory this is not though (think Owen Coyle rather than Pele)

ailsa (ailsa), Saturday, 28 February 2004 15:05 (twenty-two years ago)

and my little brothers.

they're behind the goal at the final penalty shootout.
