Today. Or yesterday. I met a former GTO! Oh my gosh! I nearly fainted. But didn't. I still have to find out which Girl she was.

Nothing yet. But the workday is almost over, Friday evening and the rest of the weekend are yet to come. Feel free to scoff if I have nothing to report by Monday morning...

I took my laptop to get looked at after tripping over the power cable (it just ripped the plug off the charger, I didn't think it had damaged the computer), and sit there aghast while the repair guy tuts and keeps finding minor faults in just about every single component (most that I hadn't even noticed), so even though it's pretty much fully functional, he declared it a write-off.

But since it's insured against War, Famine, Pestilance and Death, I'm probably getting a shiny new, YAY.

(If anyone wants a slightly-used semi-functional Apple PowerBook G4 Titanium to admire...)

Obviously I mean Or here.

Which one, Helen? I once vaguely knew this guy who was a member of the GTO's Boys' Auxiliary named Bernardo. He was a big pillpopping queen.

Anyway, a cute little white dog showed up in my driveway yesterday. He followed me up to my apartment--I live in a duplex-- and wouldn't go away. I fed him some chicken chunks and gave him some water. He got comfortable in my living room and fell asleep on the couch. Before I went to bed, I made a little bed for him on my patio. I woke up and he was gone! Boo hoo hoo. Come back little doggie!

I have to admit that GTOs album is very enjoyable. And the spoken parts and much of the music sounds very different than what I imagined by looking at pictures of them. They look like jaded groupies but sound like giggly teenagers.

I went to the doctor and discovered my medicare card had expired so I had to pay $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So pissed off. Why haven't Medicare sent me my new card! I am offended by having to pay for health care. I mean, I know I'll get $38.50 of it back from Medicare but all the same, it's just not right!

Oh, and the doctor was an obnoxious old cunt so I told him I thought I had Syphilis and I was going mad. He didn't believe me but at least it cheered him up.

I haven't found that GTO record yet, although, if I really begged, I could ask a friend for a copy. Which GTO? Sadly she didn't tell me her name. My friend assured me she was. Her husband is also rather famous (if you can call being a famous session musician that!).

Helen Fordsdale, Saturday, 20 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

correction: if you can a session musician that.

Helen Fordsdale, Saturday, 20 October 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Wrong again. Blergh.
