It's bugging the hell out of me.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

outgoing?

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Disco.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Extroverted

winterland, Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Extraverted, of course. Thank you, winterland. My brain has stopped aching.

That is all.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

no.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Extrospection?

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Did you mean: extrovert

This is rocketing up the league table in my most annoying mis-spellings list.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Extraverted? Is that like when you're hyper (you know, EXTRA) 'verted'? I am a pedantic shrew.

Hey suzy, shrewish xpost.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Either spelling is valid, BTW. But the 'extra' version is appropriately super-perky.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

dictionary.com likes both extravert and extrovert. The opposite is introvert, not introspective, no? Vert = turn, spect = look.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

yes.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Exactly, and extrospective just looks . . . well, wrong.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not sure there's a single word. Outward looking?

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 4 March 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

'not a tedious bastard'?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Liz, go police your own behaviour.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I was googling the use of 'extrospective', and it seems quite common in psychological texts. One link in particular brought me to this page which is kind of fascinating, in an N. kind of way: http://www.livejournal.com/users/faustin/57627.html

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

What do you mean by that?

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Erm, it's about the psychology of romance?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuck that!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel dirty and penitent.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

raver.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Has N. sold out on romance?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Like Cameo?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:20 (twenty-one years ago)

word up.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:22 (twenty-one years ago)

unconcious?

ArfArf, Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

introvert is to extrovert

as

introspective is to _______

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by romance; staring, hysterical, naked. I especially wish they hadn't been naked.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:32 (twenty-one years ago)

umm gregarious. there, that's my suggestion.

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

If I could intraject..I didn't mean to intraduce any bad spelling which would start this extro-ordinay fight Please except my etrovagent apologies

winterland, Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus, touchy much. I am a shrew. OK with that, Suzy?

Grammar/spelling/word threads are the killing fields of ILE.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, should of course be eXtrovagant..

winterland, Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Liz, I've no idea why you spoil for opportunities to bait females you don't know all that well on ILE when you're perfectly nice in person. Sort it the fuck out, okthxbye.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Bloody hellfire. Pot=kettle. Off for lunch.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This is the worst fight ever.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Boisterous

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 4 March 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I think we could all use a little introspection.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

(sorry you lot but this is really getting on my nerves so I'm just going to say my piece)

My straw/camel's back moment with 'extravert' is, as Madchen wisely points out, simply down to the style sheet I'm most comfortable with (extravert makes me think of greenery). That first post wasn't directed at any one individual.

However, my straw/camel's back moment with Liz came because she did make a personal remark, and not for the first time. If that makes me touchy in comparison, I'd hate to have a skin as thick as yours, dear.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't you think she only called you a shrew as a joke because she'd just called herself one? I mean, it didn't seem very personal.

Eyeball Kicks (Eyeball Kicks), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

She can call *herself* anything she wants.

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

you shouldn't commit yourself or maybe you should.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

I think suzy's just cross cause she didn't realise 'extravert' was an alternative spelling. *hides*

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:37 (twenty-one years ago)

:sees bony asstoor beating a hasty to hide, shoots, SPLAT::

And when did you stop beating your wife, N?

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Yesterday!

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

allmytroublesseemedsofar away

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

He only did it in a moment of extr@spection. ;-)

nathalie (nathalie), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

How's Johnney B's e-mail inbox going to look when he gets back from lunch?

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I said she shouldn't have committed herself or, etc.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

With JtN's post in mind, let us just talk more of MST3K.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:50 (twenty-one years ago)

To the unwary h@cker who found his way into my inbox, it looks like I have the sort of friends get offended really easily.

Saying that, I'm sure everyone's grievances are perfectly reasonable, nobody has got anything out of proportion, and you both have every right to be annoyed at each other.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Woah, Suzy, calm down. You don't have to insult people every time you feel tetchy, yo.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Pot/kettle, I know, I know.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

outrospective?

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not annoyed, but I am giggling like a small child. To be overexplanatory and boring, I didn't call anyone a shrew but myself, and that two or three times. I realise that I should just stay off here now to avoid The Wrath, but hey, y'know. Whatever.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I learned at an early age that you can copy what your neighbour has put and others will call you wise, hehe.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh, right, so there's no argument?

Say everyone's friends again!

YAY!

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

this makes me think of kicking and screaming:

what's the stuff that's above the subtext? i mean, they always talk about the subtext in writing, but they never talk about the other thing. what's that?

-- the text.

well, yeah. but they never talk about that.

(trying to lighten the mood with out of place movie quotes: c/d?)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 4 March 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

High ho, high ho, and so to work we go?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Toots sweets, toot sweet, the candies you whistle, the whistles you eat.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Johnney B (Johnney B), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

There, all done.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 12 March 2004 08:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Besides, 1-0 hardly makes you likely to go through now, does it? They are SO gonna batter you at the Nu Camp.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 12 March 2004 08:11 (twenty-one years ago)

I SAID TYPE IT UP, JOHNNEY!

(sorry)

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 26 March 2004 01:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Okay, okay. I'm sorry. Fully typed.

Fair play to you guys. I thought you were gonna be battered senseless - I'm pleased to be proved wrong, and I rekcon you've got a half decent chance in the next round as well. Let us put our past differences behind us, and instead laugh at Liverpool! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Johnney B (Johnney B), Friday, 26 March 2004 08:09 (twenty-one years ago)

expectorate, obv.

Skottie, Friday, 26 March 2004 08:12 (twenty-one years ago)
