is this person asking about a griddle or a girdle? maybe a bridle? I'm confused.

I was with this Scottish guy once, and he was raving all night about how great griddles were in Australia. I thought he must have been talking about barbecues. Turns out he was saying 'girls'.

Willdabeast, Friday, 5 March 2004 01:18 (twenty-one years ago)

why are they putting butter on the griddle I thought you didnt need it?

Willdabeast, Friday, 5 March 2004 01:19 (twenty-one years ago)

You need butter. Lots of butter.

When you get your griddle, Wlidabeest, you have to "season" it first, which as I remember means: washing it with soap (but never wash it with soap or detergent again!), dry it real good, coat in a thin layer of crisco or shortening or lard or whatever - i guess oil would do - and stick it in a 350 degree oven upside-down for like an hour. NEVER WASH IT WITH SOAP EVER.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 5 March 2004 01:24 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe he means a grill. like george foreman's

Viva La Sam (thatgirl), Friday, 5 March 2004 01:27 (twenty-one years ago)

That first picture is giving me uncontrollable sensations.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 5 March 2004 01:33 (twenty-one years ago)

That butter is going to slide off the griddle any second.

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:45 (twenty-one years ago)

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Why?

the music mole (colin s barrow), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:49 (twenty-one years ago)

i.. don't know!

the surface noise (electricsound), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:49 (twenty-one years ago)

because it pours the fat directly into your mouth

Matt (Matt), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Tracer's soap post reminds me of Ghostbusters ala "Never cross the streams!"

bnw (bnw), Friday, 5 March 2004 02:52 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm cooking with the george foreman grill, for the first time ever!

I like mine, but I always forget to use it. I've had success with salmon burgers from trader joes.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 1 February 2005 22:41 (twenty years ago)

it's pretty neat, but it shorted out the power strip in the kitchen. note to self: don't use foreman grill and microwave at the same time.
