My aunt was diagnosed with this last fall. As her surgeon was removing her gall bladder, he discovered a tumor on her pancreas. She died in less than a month. She was an alcohol abuser, by the way. I don't know if the tumor was related to the drinking and pancreatitis or not. In her case, it happened very quickly.

Thanks Donna. The thing is, I'm not sure if the cancer and the pancreatitis were related or not. It may not be relevant to the thread at all. BUT WHO KNOWS?

This story says the cause is a gallstone (um, thus gallstone pancreatis, I guess) not alcohol abuse.
