I bought a bottle and a 12-pack of pop at Walgreen's today and not only did the cashier actually ask if I wanted a bag instead of dumping the stuff in it brusquely, she handed me my change and my receipt separately so I wouldn't have to shuffle all my currency around in an attempt to crumple up/discard the receipt.

I take what I can get.

Simple maybe, but I can totally relate. The supermarket I got to uses the thinnest shitty plastic bags so anything remotely heavy bascially falls straight through. The cashiers are rude and unfriendly. Sounds like you've got a winner there.

what sucks is when they hand you the receipt (or bills) and the change together and then in an ill-fated attempt to transfer the receipt/bills to your wallet you drop all the change and have to kneel on the floor of Albertson's scrambling for your precious copper, whilst everyone in line and the cashier stand there impatiently, even though it's the goddamn cashier's fault you've made such an arse of yourself! I mean just put the receipt in the bag, ya know? hand the cash over first, followed by the change, or vice versa! fuck.
