This is a thread where we reminisce about memories from the old Greenspun site.

Mine are:

Ask a Drunk

The Marin Urology board.

Or just his pictures in general, I had some of them as desktop wall paper for a while. He's a really good photographer.

The HTML playground was great as well.

Dante-Cubed (Sean3), Saturday, 6 March 2004 07:06 (twenty-two years ago)

A Nairn (moretap), Saturday, 6 March 2004 07:08 (twenty-two years ago)

The Countryside (?) message board had some great ways to kill chickens, including my favourite: cut the top off a traffic cone and hang it from the roof of your barn, place your chicken in the traffic cone so its head is hanging down out of the hole you've just cut, take an electric bread knife and bzzzzzzz...... Apparently this method is a good way to prevent it from running around like a, er, headless chicken, spraying blood all over your nice, clean smallholding.

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 6 March 2004 16:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, the Y2K board. They believed, yes they did.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 6 March 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Countryside boards have really good thread titles: How to catch a weasle [it only eats the head]

The thing I remember most about greenspun is it being slow and the server crashing for days at a time. In a way, the breaks were kind of nice.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Saturday, 6 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Bless everyone's hearts, I would always get a slew of worried mails whenever there was a crash asking what was going on. I guess I really am the cheerleader of this place!

[Sings] Pretty watercolor meeeeemories of the way we were.

Aimless (Aimless), Saturday, 6 March 2004 17:07 (twenty-two years ago)

The Heath Ledger board was fucking awesome.

adam (adam), Saturday, 6 March 2004 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

You mean the multiple Heath Ledger boards with billions of threads each? Memories . . . .

Lynskey (Lynskey), Saturday, 6 March 2004 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

And they way most of the posters seemed to think Heath was reading their posts and perhaps even seriously considering their offers of marriage and eternal devotiion and stuff.

adam (adam), Saturday, 6 March 2004 19:20 (twenty-two years ago)

the 'goat-listener' that Momus pointed out still makes me chuckle whenever I think about it.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Saturday, 6 March 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

How do you think I met Naomi?

If I were shown this thread in 1994 and told that in ten years time it would make sense to me, I would have been upset.
