You'd be surprised. Insult Mickey Mouse to the wrong person and its pistols at dawn.

I'd agree w/NA, but then that might be too obvious.
kephm otm, except I like any really old-timey cartoons (occsaionally still run into them at odd times on the Cartoon Network), there is nothing especially good about the Mickey Mouse ones that I've noticed

why do you have a problem with gay people?
I don't. I know quite a few. My close friends that are boys, except for a few, are probably gay. They just don't know it yet.

"On Saturday-morning cartoons they would make re-dos of classic cartoon characters. Like, Yogi Bear was a rascal, right? He went around filching picnic baskets. He didn't want to get caught. So kids identified with him: 'Oh, that's cool, he's getting away with stuff!' In the '70s, all of a sudden he's in charge of cleaning up the environment, which is the total opposite of his personality. They made Fred Flintstone nice, but when he first started, he was a complete asshole. So they basically destroyed all the characters."

And the computer games.
Indeed:
Epic Mickey, designed for Nintendo’s Wii console, is set in a “cartoon wasteland” where Disney’s forgotten and retired creations live. The chief inhabitant is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a cartoon character Walt Disney created in 1927 as a precursor to Mickey but ultimately abandoned in a dispute with Universal Studios. In the game, Oswald has become bitter and envious of Mickey’s popularity. The game also features a disemboweled, robotic Donald Duck and a “twisted, broken, dangerous” version of Disneyland’s “It’s a Small World.” Using paint and thinner thrown from a magic paintbrush, Mickey must stop the Phantom Blot overlord, gain the trust of Oswald and save the day.

I read Maurice Sendak complaining about how Mickey Mouse became such a pussy when he used to be a bit of a jerk ( http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/oct/20/maurice-sendak-wild-things-hell ), but I don't remember seeing anything resembling tough Mickey. Anyone?
I also recently saw Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Channel, featuring some seriously bland and characterless CGI. Not so good. That's not what Mickey's all about, kids. :'(
