d'oh. i didn't get a picture of the ladies. i'm getting some nice shots of art deco architecture, though, and wouldn't you rather see that?

*ponders question*

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 7 March 2004 00:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Is the art deco architecture grinding with any neo-gothic or victorian architecture? Cuz that could be hot.

Prude (Prude), Sunday, 7 March 2004 04:52 (twenty-one years ago)

eleven months pass...
Is anyone going this year? I'm thinking about it. The Tribeca Grand party lineup looks crazy:

Tiefschwarz
2ManyDJs
Tiga
Mylo
James Murphy
DJ Twitch (Optimo)
Ellen Allien
Headman
Justine (Motherfucker)
oh and Radio 4 & VHS or Beta live.

Ohhhh I wish I were going again this year. (hi Phil... btw yes you can come over and watch basketball! But I have no set schedule these days. Oh and I still have that present from Latif.)

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 28 February 2005 00:09 (twenty years ago)

so no one's going this year? i've never been. can someone tell me what its like?

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 00:05 (twenty years ago)

I'm going...but I'm just a passive lurker so I don't count. I've never been there before either.

But the lineup is bananas! Bugz In The Attic, Greenskeepers, Tortured Soul, Tiga, RJD2, APT vs. WMC, too many others. It's gonna be craziness the whole time. I'm staying a day or two past WMC to just lounge on the beach and catch up on the sleep I'll be missing.

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 03:07 (twenty years ago)

the ghostly party and the revolver/tribeca party are the same night. ugh

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 03:10 (twenty years ago)

Thing with the Tribeca party that pisses me off is how off the main drag it is. The Design District isn't around the corner from where most of the stuff is going to be happening. I mean, I love some Tiga but if the party itself sucks (those things can be hit or miss), you're just kinda out there having to bum a ride/flag down a cab which is a dud. And that's spoken as someone who has obligations to be running around in that area...just not at midnight when I can be strolling where parties are lining the streets.

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:24 (twenty years ago)

Or maybe that's transportation thing is just me. I'm from NYC! I can't drive! I'd rather be drinking!

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:27 (twenty years ago)

but the entire lineup beginning to end is so hot. if i go, i'll prolly be there from beginning to end. or i could give vhs or beta a miss.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:43 (twenty years ago)

VOB are great. I saw them at a Halloween party two years ago and they were awesome. But, overly "hipster" parties piss me off. I can only think "god, you spazzes, learn how to dance so you can stop stepping on me!"

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:49 (twenty years ago)

i want to see tiefschwarz... and mylo... there's some tribeca boat party too that i want to do . if i go

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:56 (twenty years ago)

i might try to save money by going to visit my parents in chicago instead. partying for a week in miami, that could get expensive. i wonder if the parties have open bars and stuff

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 04:58 (twenty years ago)

No doubt on the open bars. Check the M3 Masterlist. It has a lot of good info. I got pretty lucky by getting an M3 pass for free, but it seems like everyone has some sort of deal to get one for $99.

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 05:02 (twenty years ago)

do you think its worth it to get it? i was just going to be a guestlist whore all week.

phil-two (phil-two), Friday, 11 March 2005 05:06 (twenty years ago)

For sure. The discounts they have are really going to be sick. Plus you get the list book and can get as drunk as you wanna at the sunset sessions.

Candicissima (candicissima), Friday, 11 March 2005 06:00 (twenty years ago)

phil, don't waste your money. it's a fun trip if you're doing it on someone else's dime, but even then the extra costs are high (design district is like a $20 cab ride from south beach, for instance). paying your own way.. yikes. anyway, since you're in nyc, i'm assuming you'll be able to see the tribeca grand party line-up at the tribeca grand more or less.

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 11 March 2005 11:38 (twenty years ago)

damn you lauren, why do you have to be so reasonable all the time. i dont think tiefschwarz is coming to nyc though, but i should use the money to go somewhere else. like paraguay or berlin or something
