Skottie, Sunday, 7 March 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Nine million.

luna (luna.c), Sunday, 7 March 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm waiting til they make the porn version to see it.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 7 March 2004 09:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Never. Never seen it. I'll go with the porn, just like softdick does.

aNatheMa (aNatheMa), Sunday, 7 March 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

They won't even need to change the title

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

That's exactly what I was thinking.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought it was, but it seemed such a funny idea I wanted to make it HIDEOUSLY BORINGLY OBVIOUS to all

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I was blubbering.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:44 (twenty-one years ago)

*rimshot*

Dan I. (Dan I.), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I cried at least twice during "Freaky Friday"

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I cried thrice during "Friday Night Videos". Candyman's "Knockin Boots" always gets to me.

oops (Oops), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:45 (twenty-one years ago)

So anyway this is a good movie then, yeah?

oops (Oops), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:46 (twenty-one years ago)

(xpost) Yeah Boringly obvious is the truth. With a capital 'B' to make sure that everyone gets it.

It is a good movie if you inject yourself with morphine beforehand. Then Gigli is good.

aNatheMa (aNatheMa), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Zero. That film was the biggest pile of steaming horse shit I've seen in a long time.

Andrew (enneff), Sunday, 7 March 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I cried during "School of Rock."

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 7 March 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah I think I cried at that too

Mr Mime (Andrew Thames), Sunday, 7 March 2004 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

(haha oops)

I just saw this movie on a "10 best movies of 2003" list. It was an okay movie. I didn't hate it with great passion. But best of 2003? WTF? Is everything that came out in 2003 total and complete shit?

I might actually have cried a little bit. I don't remember. I just remember my primary reaction was just blinking at the screen wondering what the big deal was, because I'd heard that it was soooo goooood.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Sunday, 7 March 2004 14:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Walked out 15 minutes in. Not in tears, no.

Aaron A., Sunday, 7 March 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

that scene where she's doing the speech in full regalia and is super-disappointed because the only person she wants approval from isn't there in the audience = the most affecting scene in any movie from 2003, and probably the finest acting performance of the year. cool people who walk out of movies didn't get to see it, but they probably wouldn't care about it anyway, so it's okay.

I wrote a piece about how average and misguided the film is, here:

Gotta say,.....I thought "Whale Rider" was kinda underwhelming and rather hecka-predictable.
