The heat is on in my apartment and it's hotter than first love, even with all windows open. So I'm sitting here topless. Is this acceptable, considering there are two other people here and my neighbors can see me, or should society be more accepting of women being in states of undress? Why is ok for me to be topless? Discuss, damnit.

I've been publically topless a certain number of times, but I can state that for damn sure none of them had anything to do with feeling too warm. Going topless for comfort = they are flat. Exhibitionsism is pretty cool. The breast is ridiculously sexualised in western society, which has given the breast immense power. As long as women do not let that power be exploited by men, what reason is there for desexualising them? It's a power lost for women - not a power gained. Sure things would be more 'equal' but shit, I wonder whether women can really afford to be giving up the few 'priviledges' granted by the patriarchy just yet. Will men keep up their end of the bargain in a truly equal society? Look at this stupid resentful backlash against the whole girl power thing, which was nothing more than women trying to take ownership of that male defined sexuality rather than redefining it in some universal terms - many men obviously perceive women who keep those powers as more threatening than the bra burners who didn't. Eh... I spose I'm not black and white on this one since the conflict can be counterproductive and all. It's an alternately great and terrible thing to have boobs.
