Alberta-born actress Erin Karpluk stars in CBS movie Family Sins
VANCOUVER (CP) — The Cheers characters played by Ted Danson and Kirstie Alley seem to have spawned a secret love child in the form of Vancouver actress Erin Karpluk.
Karpluk plays the daughter of Alley’s character in the CBS movie Family Sins to be aired on March 15.
Ironically, it was only last month that Karpluk appeared as the daughter of Danson’s character in It Must Be Love. Both films were shot in Calgary.
“The joke at my agency is that I’m the daughter of all of Cheers,” she jokes on the phone from Los Angeles where she’s doing the rounds during pilot casting season.
Having the opportunity to work with the Cheers duo was a dream come true for the Alberta-born Karpluk.
“Kirstie was awesome to work with,” she said. “We always talked about our love lives. She’d always bring treats for the crew.”
In fact, this year has been one of nothing but opportunities for the University of Victoria grad.
In January, ABC aired I Want to Marry Ryan Banks in which she played opposite fellow Vancouverite and former Hollywood 90210 heartthrob Jason Priestley who she said was a real joker on the set.
While she’s been acting for a while, Karpluk got her break in 2002 when she was picked by Titanic director James Cameron for a guest appearance in Dark Angel.

At least, she'll have to wait til her second 15 mins to qualify as a has-been.

I'm now imagining Cliff Claven bringing up the etymology of b*kkake.
