The utter sickness that is America's present culture war makes it imperative that Kerry keep well away from admitting that he speaks French and Italian, let alone that he has read and approved a homosexual french writer. It goes without saying that he gets my vote. Unfortunately, I don't have one, so he has to appeal to Americans, who do. We shouldn't even be talking about this. Instead we should be acting all disgusted with Kerry, saying he's just a puppet of the telecoms industry, and how all the people who were supporting Bush are now supporting him. We should say this in English and Spanish.

Yes - I'm going to buckle under and vote for Kerry, who has all the ethical credential of, say, George Bush - but for the left to pretend that he's anything more than the slightly lesser of two evils is so depressing. So to ModJ I say: I'd rather the party that's supposed to represent the left would get out of the whole puppet racket.
