I have premature white hair (white white) and I can't seem to color it. If I put blonde in my hair it turns pink and if I put brown in my hair it turns green. My hair dresser is stumped too. I would like for my hair to be blonde with the white highlights, but no one can seem to figure how to get that. I think with all the baby boomers getting grey hair and will soon be white, like me, there would be some solution. Please help I look much older than my 47 years!

I suspect 47 is a much trickier age to get white hair confidently than, say, 22. So just pretend like you've had white hair since you were 22 and go for it. All my friends and relatives who've let their hair go white have looked much better and more confident afterwards.

My mom tried to dye her white hair light brown a couple of times and it just turned beige. It was funny. White hair just doesn't seem to accept pigment the same way as other colors.

I'll probably have white hair eventually but I think it might look kind of cool.

I think Jack might be hitting the puff pastries a bit too hard with Renee, but before he got so puffy he was looking spookily like MJ. He still does now, but if he keeps gaining weight he'll end up looking some MJ/Jabba the Hut amalgalm.

How do you get normally pigmented hair really WHITE white?

you need to use 40 volume developer when mixing the bleach, which will burn the fuck out of your hair but should do the job. when that's done (if your hair hasn't broken off), apply something like manic panic's virgin snow which will give a silvery look.

Chuck Eddy made the Jack White/Michael Jackson connection in his review of Elephant. If I had white hair, I'd dye it some Manic Panic wacky shade of magenta or purple (both of which I've had).

This one person I know is only 23 and has lovely, dark curly hair with one stark white streak in it, and nobody knows what it's from but I am kind of envious. It's kind of witchy.

Apparently true white/grey hair is hard to colour because it no longer has a "base" colour. The base colour is what hairdyes rely on to get the tonal range they need. Without it, for example, something like the Feria ruby red I use comes out REALLY RED and a very odd punk primary colour. Which, if youre me, is grate. But Im sure not everyone wants to look like they painted their hair.

There are special dyes meant for grey hair like Nice N Easy or one of those kind of things, surely that isnt going to go to "green" on you? See a professional I'd say.

My hairs pretty much all grey now, but its this horrible salt n pepper grey, and no way in hell am I, at 33, going to grow it out!

I dyed my hair grey on purpose once. I had to dye it blue-black to get it out, and then when I wanted that out, I had to spend like $200 and four hours in a salon.
