Hello friends.

I am doing an essay on the film named above. Kirk Douglas is in it. At the moment all I can remember is his ridiculous chin. I am at IMD or something but its a shit database. This essay is silly but has to be done. Something about portrayals of Journalists and conflicts between true stories and entertainment. worth 33 percent of one of my modules.

So anyway, can you help me? Have you seen it? Or whats the best movie database thing?

Dis fella is stuck in a hole (a collapsed mine). The hack arrives and manipulates the sitch so as to be on top of the story, and to spin it out (eg delay rescue, to milk suspense). As a result, many foax turn up to rubberneck, yet fella-in-hole is NOT rescued but instead dies: fault = hack's. KD has scissors stuck into his tummy. Dir = Billy Wilder, 1951 box-office failure, v.manipulative not v.convincing, even tho based on a true story.

I thought it was very good in a sort of overdone hammed up way.

A bit like Kirk Douglas in every other film too.

I've started the essay. i'm good at bullshitting.

You might also care to ref the early Simpsons episode where Bart is given a walkie-talkie by Homer and pretends to have fallen down a well.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com

It is the best movie database I've seen, with reviews. Even has a plot summary of your movie. I almost did not post here, until I ran a search for movie databases and found all crap, with no mention of my favorite. It was also not clear at all what you wanted. You might want to proof read your posts before submitting.
