I am doing a math project on the price of things today and their prices in the past. Where can I find this info out? Or do you have any other suggestions for a project?

talk to your grandparents or parents. Either way, they'll complain about how much hight prices are today than they were before.

under "most requested statistics", if you pick average price data you can compare prices for: electricity, gas, oil, gasoline, white bread, coffee, orange juice, beef chicken, eggs, milk, tomatoes, bananas, lettuce, etc. from 1980 to 1994.

you can also select "Average Price Data" under "Create customized tables". then on the first screen you pick an area (all u.s., just cities, just rural areas, just the south, just minneapolis, whatever), on the next menu you pick a product, and then finally you pick what years you want (it only goes from 1980 to 2004). it'll give you a table of relative prices.

i don't know where to find a table of wages but you might want to try the labor department. you may want to examine the table of "Average HourlyEarnings" at the department of labor.

if you're not in the u.s. you'll want to do google searches on "price index" or "consumer price index" and "average hourly earnings". you may also want to use the term "adjusted" in your searches to make sure you're not getting you r results screwed up by inflation.
