I'm trying to remember the name of a Japanese sculptor who did this big pop-art sculptures of what looked like superhero anime-figures, some with giant ropes of semen as weapons or something.

I saw his name and some of the work in a magazine about five years ago, but I have no clue who it is now.

That's it! All the results for 'anime semen sculptor' (and variations) turned things I'd rather not have seen.

I really enjoyed the exhibition at the Serpentine a year ago. I specifically went home just to see it and I wasn't disappointed. Lately, I even found my dad with a copy of The Art Review with a lead article on Murakami. It's mine now.

SFMOMA has several Murakami works currently on display, including this one:

Oh, nothing - I just wanted to find out more about him/the sculptures, but couldn't remember the name.

Oh the Serpentine exhibit was wonderful. I walked all the way through the park in the rain to get there and it wasn't open yet, so I had to walk back the next day (still in the rain). It was such an intense explosion of color and fun in the middle of the greyest park ever.
