Rides with Jason Priestly has some killer content but his style of narration kills me. He has this "You're fucking lucky as hell we're showing you this stuff, PEON" tone that gets on my nerves. The content is usually pretty killer though.

People with nitrous oxide on their cars tend[ed] to be the most obnoxious wankers around. Right up there with people in late-model Camaros who insist on backing into parking spots as loudly and quickly as possible. Hey, guess what buddy, your car is ugly and you're not cool. (I don't know why this behavior is Camaro-centric.)

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.
Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow. How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore, Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords.
So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins, For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.

(part of the point of this show is that these vehicles are essentially brand new cars once they leave the shop, having been stripped down to nothing and completely rebuilt; they just focus on the things that give good TV, like the paint job and the FIREPLACE)

With brand new car (plus plus) insurance costs, though. I mean, I know that it's missing the point of the show to go "OMG THERE ARE CHILDREN IN ETHIOPIA THAT COULD EAT FOR A YEAR OFF THAT CAR" but it seemed odd for them to point out that they were solving the wrong problem.
THERE WAS THIS ONE EPISODE, THEY PIMPED A RIDE, PUT A PLAYSTATION 2 INTO THE CAR
Haha all that X-Box advertising budget wasted on you.

The funniest part is how they take these people who treat their cars like shit (I should know as I'm that same type) so you know they're just going to have totally thrashed, broken-down, but pimped-out cars in 6 months. "Hey if you dig through the empty pizza boxes and dirty laundry in the back seat you can play with my 3 X-Boxes!"
Also, I keep wondering if any of the people with pimped rides have been carjacked. I'm sure some of those rims or flatscreen TVs have been stolen already.

DETROIT, Dec. 29 - Pimp the ride, pay the price.
In the first of what is expected to be a broader crackdown against auto customization shops, federal regulators on Wednesday imposed a $16,000 fine on West Coast Customs, the auto body shop affiliated with "Pimp My Ride," an MTV reality show that makes over rundown cars. The shop, which has customized sport utility vehicles for customers like Shaquille O'Neal, was fined for removing front air bags in cars to install video screens in steering wheels.

Q: Is the rat still in it? Nov-16-07 A: That was all fake, there was never a rat. They put it in there as a prop. They also made the car look worse then it was using spray paint and primer.
