Well, I certainly was younger then and had all my hair. I can say that for 1976. But I'd say it qualified more as the most confused year of all time, if you just judge it by my life - science be damned.

All I really remember about 1976 is going to Philadelphia for the Bicentennial celebrations. It rained on July 4th. I was 9.

Right. The "Bicentennial Minutes" on Saturday morning TV hyped us American kids up patriotic-style. And the Tall Ships were inexplicably popular.

At the Bicentennial Picnic I won the sack race, my dad won the pie-eating contest and my little brother won the prize for the baby with the biggest ears. I loved that day. I was almost 10.
