Is there a term for a voluptuous girl whose massive breasts once gave the illusion of her being fit...but then after getting a breast reduction, her new proportions now make her look fat?

There really should be but I haven't heard one yet....if there isn't, can anyone here make one up?

andy, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)

I have to admit I am terribly surprised to find out that this thread was NOT started by a certain someone. (I still don't like it.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 18:08 (twenty-two years ago)

It is called "calumbait".

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 18:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Deceptively simple, Waxyjax's latest poem is built around a provocative rhetorical question:

is there a term
for a voluptuous girl
whose massive breasts
once gave the illusion of
her being
fit

but then
after getting
a breast reduction
her new proportions
now
make her
look
fat?

There's a palpable absurdity lingering in the question, namely the idea that the English language, rich though it is, might contain a single word apt for so peculiar and over-determined a set of conditions. Here Waxyjax is perhaps alluding to Laurie Anderson's enigmatic 'White Lily':

What Fassbinder film is it?
The one-armed Man walks into a flower shop and says:
'What flower expresses
Days go by
And they just keep going by endlessly
Pulling you Into the future.
Days go by
Endlessly
Endlessly pulling you Into the future?'
And the florist says:
White Lily.

The symmetry is not an exact one, however. Where Anderson evokes Fassbinder and lillies, Waxyjax puts us in mind of Russ Meyer and a plastic squirt rose. Nevertheless, a haunting reflection on the inadequacy of language in the face of feminine beauty, with a nice piece of euphonic bathos in the transition from 'fit' to 'fat'.

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna say exactly what Momus said, but he beat me to it. Oh, wait a minute, no i wasn't.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

wow, first the Zen comment, now the literary explication....it's as if my mind wasn't as in the gutter as i thought it was.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 19:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I know two women personally that suffer from this (new, smaller breasts that magnify other areas in need of reduction).

Punky Boobster doesn't look fat

Are you something to do with the Satyrday Knights posse?

Momus (Momus), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 21:47 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, they rented out my loft for their Ides of March party....they asked me if they could throw their next party in my loft but we got too many noise complaints so they ended up using some spot in Chinatown and got busted--I felt kinda bad about that.

waxyjax (waxyjax), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 21:51 (twenty-two years ago)

real smooth there, guys

why so sensitive?

Stuart (Stuart), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 21:58 (twenty-two years ago)

That party was a scream -- the only party I've ever been to where people were walking around naked. I should post photos, I have some here somewhere.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I doubt this particular one has that capability.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:38 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Please tell me being chased out of town for wandering around in nothing but white socks, trainers and red mask wasn't one of them.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:47 (twenty-two years ago)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:51 (twenty-two years ago)

I've just noticed that man seems to be holding a plastic cup over his wang.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 22:57 (twenty-two years ago)

sexyDancer, Wednesday, 17 March 2004 23:05 (twenty-two years ago)

hey momus and suzanne,
do you have any other pics from the party?

waxyjax (waxyjax), Wednesday, 17 March 2004 23:53 (twenty-two years ago)

On closer inspection, I see it is not a plastic cup but a slightly odd thumb.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:35 (twenty-two years ago)

If anyone asks me what I did this evening, I am not going to tell them.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 18 March 2004 00:40 (twenty-two years ago)

For 1 # Don't shy away from the SECOND TRIUMVIRATE on Saturday - REALIZE that J. Ceasar is dead (RIP Monday), but "Julius Caesar" goes on for TWO MORE ACTS - and Satyrday Knights will try to DRAW THE CURTAIN.
Let me simply say: SPAGHETTI DINNER
--- Tony Danza, Tony Montana, Mark AnTONY, and, of course, Augustus Octavian. Guess who gets no meatballs?

# 2 , N. (nikdastoo...) - kudos (chocolate bars) on your graphic design abilities - I have a workout video I am almost finished with, but I need some animation consultation - you available? Contact me off-list

# 3 N. (nikdastoo...) What did you do this evening?
