You were on that funny thread.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, yes i was.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

now i'm on another one

Stuttering

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:04 (twenty-two years ago)

no, you're not.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:40 (twenty-two years ago)

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

cheap labour for record company...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 18 March 2004 15:46 (twenty-two years ago)

RJG won this thread several times over.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

get a haircut hippie

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:29 (twenty-two years ago)

"someone opposes high taxes?! I will stalk them until the next episode of star trek."

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:33 (twenty-two years ago)

oh, you thought you were opposing high taxes.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I would say that you have to be a grasping, self-interested slimebag without an iota of compassion to make a career in the music business, but... oh. Carry on.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:41 (twenty-two years ago)

a lot of pathetic, judgemental people on this board. so i'm a "self-interested slimebag" because i argued for lower taxes. this is why the left is falling apart.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

D follows C, man.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I get this vision of D Aziz getting his soul crushed as an intern in the music industry by a boss who stutters. And I laugh.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Certainly as an intern you would pay lower taxes.

I interned for MTV for a bit and got a job out of it. It was however a soul crushing and destroying job which I jacked in six months later, so I'm probably not the best person to talk to on this subject.

(I also used to run the new interns we got, 25 in one week, the equivalent of five full time minions, for free!)

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

so i'm a "self-interested slimebag" because i argued for lower taxes. this is why the left is falling apart.

This is an interesting vision.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

what i meant Ned, since i seem to have things spelled out for you, is that an inability to handle discourse or dissenting opinion makes for a weak mind

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

That too is an interesting vision.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Your dissenting opinion is so obscenely self-interested, and your so unable to comprehend why that's a bad thing, that I'm quite happy to make my statement in full comprehension of what I'm talking about.

Go and play with your fellow reactionaries. What? They don't care about you? That must hurt.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:11 (twenty-two years ago)

pa thet ic

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

But it isn't. It's unusual to meet someone whose political opinions alone make them loathsome, but you manage it. Seriously, why are you here?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

get a life

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Arguing with someone who you have zero respect for (and who isn't capable of arguing anyway because they're a dogmatic, bigoted cunt with little more than a very poor line in abuse), C/D?

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:21 (twenty-two years ago)

psychotic people who stalk persons they know through posts on a single thread of a message board C/D? Forming opinions about one's personal character by their take on the european welfare state C/D?

The European Welfare state is not sustainable, that is basically all i say. I am fine with the American welfare system as only a tiny percentage of the budget goes towards it, my main beef is with the military budget and the military industrial complex. If that makes me dogmatic then sue me. As for bigoted, i don't know where you got that idea, you're the one making racist jokes. Now let me state again, get a life.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:25 (twenty-two years ago)

(xpost) It would be safe to say neither of you is coming out the winner here, yes.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't try it, Farrell.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

hey Farrel, i wanted no part of this, it's just every time i post a few psychos get their panties in a bunch about me not wanting America to become like Europe.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I am not sure where the original argument is, but I certainly don't see why arguing for lowering of taxation is a priori a necessarily bad thing even from a left wing perspective. I work in the public secotr and am well aware that to some degree there is a level of best fit. If you threw money at us it would not necessarily improve services. Equally lowering the direct taxation burden paid by the poorly paid (for instance VAT which once a luxuries tax is nigh on ubiquitous) would do a lot to improve the quality of life for the poorest.

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

The original argument.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

my argument was basically

"For people under a certain income there should be a negative tax credit but this should be set at a fairly lwo number to discourage people from simply living off welfare as is the case in Germany"

which resulted in several leftists frothing at the mouth and posting 5 times per minute.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Which is an interesting misrepresentation.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Stuart doesn't strike me as particularly leftist, for instance.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Regardless of Stuart's political leanings, to be endlessly attacked on every post following this "debate" are the tactics of seriously disturbed people.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:16 (twenty-two years ago)

To be immovable in the face of vastly more intelligent reasoning (oh, and compassion, love for our fellow man etc. etc.) is the sign of a warped mind. You're still young, maybe you'll get some humanity beaten into you if your ideal life course takes a tumble or two.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

"You were on that funny thread." is funny.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

If by "vastly more intelligent reasoning" you mean bigoted racist comments without making a single argument then yes, yes you are vastly more intelligent. Otherwise, the only thing you have on me is age and ignorance. Now i will stop responding to you as i don't speak to bigots, and this RJG character just seems to be an annoying dope who finds himself quirky or something, i'm not sure. If Ned would like to try and make an argument against my political standings i'd be happy to refute as he's not (yet) made any racist comments only lazy ones.

D Aziz (esquire1983), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

this thread is useful

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

i take it he didn't get the job.

gygax! (gygax!), Thursday, 18 March 2004 18:42 (twenty-two years ago)

So it would seem.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 18 March 2004 19:05 (twenty-two years ago)

gareth OTM, of course.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 18 March 2004 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)
