In this weeks NME, there's a piece written by someone from Vice, a review of some NYC band, which contains 95% nothing about siad band. it's the polar opposite of everything else in the paper, is much more amusing and riveting in its complete randomness. If anyone else has read it, I just want opinions as it interested me so much more than all the crap writing the NME has filled itself with recently?

(or should this be an ILM post?)

The best music journalism is never about the band or the music. Unfortunately writers like this tend to get spotted lickedy-spit and get column writing jobs in the Independent under an amusing nom de plume like Tangleweed.

I don't regularly see NME here in the USA (although it is around, in some Tower Records and Borders Books) but I got to thinking that maybe rock writing has become crap for the same reason entertainment and sports writing is-- the topics/questions all became the same and people know what answers they're supposed to give now.
