Live Action Muppet Movie - Who Would Play Kermit!

Its just been announced that Henson/Disney are planning a l;ive action Muppet movie. When I say live action, I mean actual actors, a la Jim Carrey in the Grinch and Mike Myers in The Cat In The sHat dressed up as/digitally enhanced/prosthetically turned into.

So who would play Kermit / Miss Piggy / Gonzo / Beeker?

Pete (Pete), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

KILL ME

s1ocki (slutsky), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

David Schwimmer/Barbra Steisand/Johnny Depp/Dunno

Strachey, Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:18 (twenty-two years ago)

I though Dave Matthews had that locked up.

dave225 (Dave225), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Uh, doesn't this defeat the entire purpose of Muppets? I mean, prior to Carrey and Myers, the Grinch and the Cat in the Hat had only been animated. But the Muppets have always interacted with humans, in their Muppet form -- that's always been one of their most appealing characteristics and was a huge part of the success of The Muppet Show (look, Tony Orlando's talking to a puppet bear!).

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 18 March 2004 16:21 (twenty-two years ago)

you are correct. this is the worst idea i have ever heard.

I wonder.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 18 March 2004 21:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Garfield is going to be shit, I grant you, but this one is going to be way more disappointing.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 18 March 2004 22:25 (twenty-two years ago)
