I had some stoner friends in college who always had this enterprising idea that if they bought an ounce of weed, they could smoke as much as they wanted, sell a bit, and come out even when the day was done. it was always just awhole lot of smoke as much as you want and not much selling of any sort.

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Friday, 19 March 2004 22:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Back in the eighties, this stoner friend of mine bought what he thought was large quantity of hash, which he intended to sell. I forget the exact details, but he got ripped off by the guy who sold him it in some way, and as he was a local scary hard man, he was frightened to do anything about it. he borrowed money to buy it, and it took 3 years to pay it off. Dud, based on this. Sorry it's not funny, but it did actually happen.

I have a funny story about someone who once tried to use "i'm a crack dealer" as a pick-up line on me in a bar. Wait, maybe it's not that funny either.

well my friend has a nice apartment in Wicker Park, a car, goes on trips every other month, a hot girlfriend, and hasn't paid taxes in 3 years. So classic.

oops (Oops), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:25 (twenty-two years ago)

That's what Ed Norton said just before Tony Saragusa squealed on him.

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Everyone seems to have alot of 'friends' that did it, but they never chose to do it themselves. Once you've been living in the danger zone, there's no going back. It's New Jack City, yo. You're coming in from the snowstorm... you got to pay to play.

andy, Friday, 19 March 2004 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I've heard it's bad to get high off your own supply.

Sym (shmuel), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:34 (twenty-two years ago)

No, it's bad to get high off of Air Supply.

m.e.a. (m.e.a.), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:36 (twenty-two years ago)

dude, there's nothing wrong with air supply...just ask the karate kid

>>>Depends what type...i like the sound of those ones in the 60s who had a mission to turn on the world rather than make money

my dad told me this story about when he lived in topanga there was this guy who would sell weed door to door(!). he wore this leather jacket that he would walk through his plants with, then scrape all the keef off of it and offer it to potential customers (fo free) when he came over for a visit.

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmmn well NOT entirely DUD because if it was then nobody would do it and then who would I buy my drugs from haha. But you have to be a cold motherfucker to be able watch people (some of them your friends) deteriorate before your eyes on substances you sold them. Ick.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Friday, 19 March 2004 23:43 (twenty-two years ago)

when i was a kid, we came down to london with my dealers dealer, and we stopped in at the place he was buying from, and there were carrier bags and carrier bags full of coke and pills all around the place, talking penthouse flat in docklands, merc outside, money money money, they were older than us, like 21,22, and they were richer than i could ever dream of. at the time, i thought it was mad cool, living the life, what its all about.

but, thinking about it, where do you think they are now, do you think they were able to escape the game? even if they wanted to?

Small Wonder - 'Vicki and the Pusher' 1st Aired Week of 9/3/88

When a schoolyard pusher tries to hook Vicki on drugs, the Lawsons help the police on a undercover sting.

A watered-down drug theme show that would've gone better with Vicki mimicking the darker effects of drug usage than doing her hummingbird imitation. Catch the innuendo of what Vicki's eating in the schoolyard when she talks of "taking a number."

jewish grandmother selling me quality dank and not letting me go home until i wach buffy with her:CLASSIC

mhpek, Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:10 (twenty-two years ago)

our friend's exboyfriend was a coke dealer in london, the most broke ass drug dealer you'd ever see, I think, and bit of a loser who kept getting into trouble with cops, so, fucking DUD.

anthony kyle monday (akmonday), Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:15 (twenty-two years ago)

But you have to be a cold motherfucker to be able watch people (some of them your friends) deteriorate before your eyes on substances you sold them.

One rationalization - "It's their choice. They came to me for drugs, I didn't make them do anything." (Assuming you're not out recruiting schoolchildren.)

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:16 (twenty-two years ago)

My last dealer was a 40-something, rotund white man who lived with his dad in a 2 Br apt and smoked crack and cigarettes all day. His room was riddled with burn marks and broken glass and Chore Boy and pieces of coat hangers and porn DVDs. That is, until his 23 yr old heroin addict girlfriend gets out of jail, and now add dirty uncapped syringes and splattered blood to the mix because her veins are so gone it takes her 3-4 hours and 50 tries to hit, so as soon as she hits she has to start poking around again because she knows she'll be sick by the time she finds another vein.

Soon ge starts taking his coke IV and now is sure that there are people watching him thru the air vents and on video etc... His habit gets bad so he has to take Xanax in huge amounts to get to sleep which renders his entire waking existence a sort of dream state in which his behavior is thoroughly imapired, and he does weird shit and gets violent and he'll forget every minute of it with the next Xanax.

Last time I was there there he had my take out the trash and as soon as I left the bag something pokes me and my thumb is gushing red. "You do cap your rigs before you throw them away?" "No." I figure by the way I got cut it must have been glass though, and not a needle, so now worries.

Dud all 'round!

Aaron A., Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:33 (twenty-two years ago)

buffy is so much more exciting than that

mhpek, Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Aaron, :shudder:: I also have icky stories of very un-glamourous dealers.

I've seriously thought of doing it but then the smart part of my brain that hasn't been killed by drugs slaps some sense into me.

A friend who had three growhouses and got busted by the DEA last year is on his way to federal prison in June. Fun.

Ask For Samantha (thatgirl), Saturday, 20 March 2004 00:57 (twenty-two years ago)

T.I. (Antmusic78), Saturday, 20 March 2004 01:06 (twenty-two years ago)

My friend is currently paying for his phd by selling large quantities of marijuana.

gggg, Saturday, 20 March 2004 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

"Marijuana is not a drug."

miloauckerman (miloauckerman), Saturday, 20 March 2004 02:26 (twenty-two years ago)

"Marijuana is not a dangerous drug"

oops (Oops), Saturday, 20 March 2004 02:33 (twenty-two years ago)

If there were no drug dealers, they'd be no drugs.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Saturday, 20 March 2004 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

No, they'd just all be sitting in a giant warehouse in Mexico.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 20 March 2004 08:50 (twenty-two years ago)

What, the drug dealers?
