I could've gotten rid of the Bangs book the other night, but I totally forgot on the way to Bill's house.

Perhaps this post would've been better as a Stickie on my desktop?

I borrowed a paperback primer on moral philosophy from my RE teacher at school and didn't get around to returning it. I still felt bad about this when I was at university, and bought another copy for myself so that I could post the old one back with apologies. But I never got around to it. I still glance at my school newsletter to see if he's retired or moved on yet. I guess it would be kind of bizarre to return it now.

I also have two DVDs of RJG's that I haven't watched yet ('Dune' and 'Ghost Dog') and '24' season 2 from another friend. I've had these for several months. RJG has lots of my CDs so I don't feel bad about that, but I really should return the 24 boxed set.

i have a copy of candide which i borrowed from a girl about six years ago. i just realized that i bumped into her last month, took her email address and told her i would write her and then forgot, so i guess i owe her a note too.

I didn't include several books that I've borrowed from my dad, because I'm not sure whether he even wants them back anymore.

Oh fuck, I also have a book that a college professor loaned me four years ago. It's a volume of literary criticism that she's in; I think it's like the complimentary copy she received. Yeah, I feel bad about it, too. I even met her for coffee about a month ago, after not seeing her since graduation, but it didn't even occur to me to return the book. I don't even know if she knows I have it.

And then there's the video on stage combat I borrowed from my high school drama teacher in 1992, when I was in A Midsummer Night's Dream. That may still be in my parents' basement somewhere.

I have that Johnny Rotten autiobiography, never read, lent to me by a punk girl I was trying to get with in my first year of college. I also have Ryan's Marc Ribot CD. Sorry Ryan.

What kills me about the Susan Minot and Madeleine L'Engle books on my list is that I've had both for almost a year, I haven't read them, nor do I have any real intention to. Both were given to me in this "you should read this, I think you'd like this" way. I don't know why I accepted. Because now, the longer I have them, the more awkward it's gonna be if I return them unread. It's a terrible burden.

Also: a Lydia Davis book.

a Nancy and Lee album (vinyl) I've had for a year and a half. Someday I'll give it back.

I have currently in my possession a dozen or so back issues of Good Housekeeping magazine I borrowed from my mother, that I haven't given back to her yet. I don't know if I should give them back to her, though, because I don't know if she'll end up keeping them or throwing them away. She's big on throwing stuff away.

(Thank goodness for having a subscription to the magazine now.)

I've got a beautiful Korg MS-10 that I'm supposed to be selling for a friend..I'm still trying to convince myself that I'm checking all the connections are working, rather than actually just stealing it.
