The Lion 90.7 fm, WKPS has me spinning indie stuff from 11am-1pm on Tuesdays. I've been doing it for a while but the webradio link should finally be up now. There's no computer there so I'll have no idea if you're listening so feel free to just post "WOOO! AWWRRIIIGHT!" at random intervals here.

It would make a good comedown at noon from Ally's show!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have that new Animal Collective record (Sung Tongs)? God I love it. And found out about it on ILM, natch. Anyway, I request that -- any track'll do.

Great show so fah!

Aaron A., Tuesday, 23 March 2004 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a playlist so far, Anthony? (Liking the Modest Mouse.)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 17:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 18:11 (twenty-two years ago)

one month passes...
ok so we have internet now in the station. PLEASE CONTINUE LISTENING TO ALLY BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AN INSENSITIVE JACKASS.

However my show starts now and goes on till 1pm EST so there's no reason you can't listen to mine after hers (and I guess Ally-hataz can listen now though Ally-hatin' feels kind of absurd). I'll make sure that final hour is some kind of ILX rewarding powderkeg. this is the site

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 14:07 (twenty-one years ago)

*cough* *puppy dog eyes*

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

(think Zoolander's black lung)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm playing "Clarity," beat that, bitch! ;)

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

fuck I wish this show wasn't indie-oriented.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

My dream of playing a Maroon 5/Matchbox 20/John Mayer set with me shrieking in glee between each song will have to wait for some other station.

But I'm playing good indie, people! c'mooooooon

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I request dinosaur jr!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Bob Mould?

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Dosn't the station have Instant Messenger so we can bother you in real-time?

J0hn Darn1elle (J0hn Darn1elle), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:54 (twenty-one years ago)

you have a pretty nice voice anthony. You could come work for me and play John Mayer.

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

more nardwuar please!

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 15:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I can't play either Ally or Miccio here at work, but I would if I could.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

ditto

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

aw man, I shouldn't have given up on this thread. Anyhow, I'll be doing this show again next week, same time. The AIM name is Lion Indie.

I'll DEFINITELY play "Addicted To Cheese" by Narduwar's Evaporators next time. That song makes me cry every time. It's sooo true. Mozerella makes me feel better.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the part where he explains that he's not talking about cheesy metal.
I interviewed him a week ago and he's really one of the nicest, sweetest fellows I've ever had the pleasure of speaking over the phone with.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

Enuff-z-Nuff references are indeed awesome.

If I ever go to grad school one of the important qualities the place must have is a college station where you can play whatever the fuck you want. We're all format-oriented here.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:51 (twenty-one years ago)

My community station is basically open format, but we have pretty strict content limits, since our license depends on adhering to community standards, and the general community is a bunch of fuckwits.

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

there's an enuff-z-nuff CD at the local second hand record shop, is it worth getting?

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:54 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't heard much, Jel, but it's probably worth checking out.

I just want to be able to hop all over different genres. Though Teeny if you're remotely serious about letting me DJ for you I'D so be up for it in...um, Aug 2005 when my lease runs out.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I too want to spin for teeny! *spins*

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 16:59 (twenty-one years ago)

semi-serious, how many hoops would we have to jump through to create one of those digital sattelite radio stations?

The Huckle-Buck (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 27 April 2004 17:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Today's show will be chock full of ILX-baiting, in celebration of the fact that Ally has moved on to greener radio time-slot pastures. Momus! Mountain Goats! International Telepaths! Songs from every mix CD an ILXor has given me! Favorite bands of Ilxors played! Pathetic pandering of pyrrhic proportions! Starts at 11am EST.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

ok the jazz guy didn't show up so I'm starting early. Right after this Neil Young track playing now.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

How does one listen, Anthony?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

man it is weird to hear you talk about ilxors on the radio!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

there's a link to the website upthread, here it is again. On the menu I think its called listen live.

Yeah, the Sam shout-out is just the beginning here. Plus you get to hear me with a cold!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Play the Weakerthans (if you don't have A New Rose)!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll look for that. And, sonuvagun, I just got a phone request for Firewater!

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

"And what's your name, sir?"
"CYN ni Xela."
"Thank you."

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

argggh that fugazi song took me right back to high school!

teeny (teeny), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:06 (twenty-one years ago)

this girl Toni I know just slept through her final and it was one of her requests. Thankfully I'd brought the CD today (we don't have any Clash, Talking Heads or old Fugazi here - damn crappy record collection)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:14 (twenty-one years ago)

is this you, ant? are you playing int'l telepaths now? cool. good radio voice!

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I said play COUNTRY

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

where's the north american distro!

Hey man, I did my part.

I said play COUNTRY

But but but there's as many definitions for country as there are for metal. AND YOU KNOW IT. ;-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, was that GOTHSCAPE?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

yay electric six!

etc, Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey Anthony, I can't think of a request, maybe that Jawbox song I used to play all the time or GVSB's 'All The Rage'.

To all who missed it: Anthony's final radio show of his college career (2 years ago now) was epic. He had this explosion sound effect basically on repeat as he counted down his favorite songs (or was it albums?) of all time.

Travis Brady, Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

hey cool, people with american accents! I'm always way more astonished than I have any right to be.

also, it appears the entire internet is attempting to access this show & it's timing out severely :(

(btw which int'l telepaths cover didja play?)

etc, Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 16:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanks for the Joke track, Antoine

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 4 May 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Just so ya know, my show is now Monday's 11am-1pm EST. Today's show probably won't be as entertaining as it could be. I'm seriously hungover, no guest stars and I'm just playing tons of new stuff (no Osmonds or anything like that).

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 17 May 2004 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

After the barrowful of commercials, announcements and stuff... and one poppin'rockin' song -- now I think I'm hearing you speaking, Miccio man!?
Well the someone speaking does sound hungover, that much I'm can say.

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 17 May 2004 15:07 (twenty-one years ago)

(four track in a row, without a break. hm, the dj must be well, um, exhausted. or gone home?)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 17 May 2004 15:16 (twenty-one years ago)

no, he not gone home. he there still :)

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 17 May 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, normally I'm much more enthusiastic and verbose. Next week will be a doozy, I promise.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 17 May 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha!

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Monday, 17 May 2004 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

four weeks pass...

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 14 June 2004 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

um, if anybody wants to listen they can but this show is actually turning out to be really uninteresting cuz I'm shooting the shit with another DJ about a fuck-ass tyrant here. Not on air, though.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Monday, 14 June 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

dude i missed the part where you changed days and i don't have access at work so i have to record it at home and now i've missed today's. i shall record next week's, though!

YES. BRIGHT EYES.

Fuck there's some dude who just came in and is sitting around reading the paper and picking his nose. WTF. I dunno what the fuck is going on. Hope he likes sad songs.

miccio (miccio), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:20 (twenty-one years ago)

you okay?

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i liked the e. smith song, btw. i don't know why i haven't listened to that album yet.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

the concept of eternal judgement was created so that the living would not envy the dead. Without cause for trepidation any rational person would chose eternal rest over the pointless havoc of experience.

miccio (miccio), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:48 (twenty-one years ago)

you okay?

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:52 (twenty-one years ago)

yes, now that the guy picking his nose left (he was waiting on a friend who did not arrive. how fitting. how common.)

miccio (miccio), Monday, 14 February 2005 16:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Miccio - you got Gmail.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Monday, 14 February 2005 17:27 (twenty-one years ago)
