they thoroughly stink up the world.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

But I thought they were part of that Canadian indie salvation I've heard them talk about so much lately.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:27 (twenty-two years ago)

no, they are the worst.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

quite friendly, tho.

Kingfish Cowboy (Kingfish), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

in an awful way.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:35 (twenty-two years ago)

that's it. you're not allowed to eat any more mothballs. they've soured your sunny disposition.

Kingfish Cowboy (Kingfish), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

yes.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Though I have some reservations about the album -- it gets a little long and tiresome by the end -- they also put on the best show I saw last year. Really fun and rockin'.

jaymc (jaymc), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:42 (twenty-two years ago)

in an unfun and unrocking way.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I quite like that song that Emily from Metric sings on. The '17 year old girl' one.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:53 (twenty-two years ago)

are they as bad as that other canadian indie band that were meant to be good last year?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:54 (twenty-two years ago)

worse.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:55 (twenty-two years ago)

thanks for the heads up, I shall shun them

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:56 (twenty-two years ago)

saw them live last weekend, they were very friendly and sounded pretty good. i liked stars better, but that's who i came to see so it's no surprise.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

i hate their friendliness most of all. it's almost as annoying as their lameness. and wispy beards.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

my second reason for skipping their show on sunday was because they were playing with stars, who i hate. my main reason is that it was a show sponsored by the local college station, and shows like that are always lameass hipster conventions where noone actually pays any attention to the music.

Felonious Drunk (Felcher), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:09 (twenty-two years ago)

BSS are worse than Limp Bizkit, Stone Temple Pilots, and Puff Daddy's "Forever" period?
So they're not quite the very worst.

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I like them alright. One of their songs sounds like a lost math-rock cut from 'Isn't Anything'.

But Stars are wonderful.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

I heard some samples on amazon, they sound quite noisy (so, not so bad)

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:14 (twenty-two years ago)

But actually they are the worst, as I pointed out earlier.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:19 (twenty-two years ago)

unlike Tragically Hip right?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:18 (twenty-two years ago)

fritz are they, in fact, the worst?

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:34 (twenty-two years ago)

What?

donut bitch (donut), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:46 (twenty-two years ago)

huh?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:50 (twenty-two years ago)

they are the wurst.

LITTLE LAMB [Jon Williams] (ex machina), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:52 (twenty-two years ago)

brat

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:54 (twenty-two years ago)

wienner

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 25 March 2004 03:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Stars are jerks. BSS are nice. But I find them both a little boring.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:17 (twenty-two years ago)

stars are jerks? i'm outta this thread.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:55 (twenty-two years ago)

That's what the guy who runs their old label sez at least.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 25 March 2004 04:57 (twenty-two years ago)

"stars are jerks" would be the worst indie band name ever

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Or maybe..... the best ever.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

the best worst

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:05 (twenty-two years ago)

or maybe...the worst best

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

i think i've confused myself

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:06 (twenty-two years ago)

better yet

Aaron W (Aaron W), Thursday, 25 March 2004 05:18 (twenty-two years ago)

mmmmmm hot dogs.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 25 March 2004 13:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i'm still not convinced.

are they TRULY the wurst?

Kingfish Hypercolor (Kingfish), Thursday, 25 March 2004 14:28 (twenty-two years ago)

... show sponsored by the local college station, and shows like that are always lameass hipster conventions ...

Radio sponsord show = hipster convention?

I can't imagine that! not in the UK, anyway...

mark grout (mark grout), Thursday, 25 March 2004 14:33 (twenty-two years ago)

broken social scene are good! stars, however, suck giant rocks through tiny, tiny straws.

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 25 March 2004 15:03 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, jess, in fact the broken social scene are the worst. no mark, they are actually not good at all. unless by "good" you mean "the worst".

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, jess, in fact the broken social scene are the worst. no, mark, they are actually not good at all. unless by "good" you mean "the worst".

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 25 March 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)
