Remember the one where Briscoe arrested the perp and he had this really funny wisecrack that was this cute riff about the nature of the crime, except the perp that Briscoe arrested and made the wisecrack about wasn't really the person who did the crime? That was great.

I would imagine this show does a lot better in the NY market rather than LA. Those bodega awnings and red brick buildings are great backgrounds for Orbach's knowing smirk.

the best wisecrack, well, it was actually on Law and Order SVU. The cops walk into a drug/prostitute den of sorts where they find a woman passed out on a bed and two yuppie/frat type squares standing in front of her, one with his pants around his ankle. That guy says "I was about to help her up" and Olivia says "with what, your penis?"

That doesn't really explain why at one stage here in australia it was on every night of the working week
