Car (or bike) Doppelgangers?

Have you ever had someone with nearly the exact same ride as you who parked in the same area you did? Did you ever meet them?

This was common in my yuppie high school because I had a silver Volvo then.

this was in Curb Your Enthusiasm the other day. Larry was running down the street and yelled out, "Hey Prius!"

I think all the idiots with Trek bikes at my school and Kryptonite locks are having this happen a lot at the library.

I went into a large bike shop a few months ago to get some crap and looked over and saw a bike that was similar to my first good racing bike, a blue and white '89 Bridgestone RB-1. It had been customized for cx, before cx frames were available in US, with canti braze-ons, added for me by a local builder. I sold that frame about 6 or 7 years ago.

I went over to reminisce, and HOLY SHIT THIS WAS MY BIKE. New fork, profane stickers removed, but the rear brazeons were still there, same scratches. I kept my eye on it to see the owner but finally had to ask the register guy whose it was. The guy who owns it, develpmentally disabled and kinda hard for me to communicate with, had it looking sooo good, spotless, tuned-up, I could tell he loves it. He insisted I ride it, but I said "no thanks." I learned that the bike had been owned by at least two other people in between him and me.

I still get goose bumps of joy from the experience.

I had a white MB1 jacked from me via the back alley. I had gone inside momentarily to get help carrying it down the back stairs. i had a broken collarbone and could not lift things.

I see twins of that bike occasionally. Whenever I do, I fantasize about somehow finding the jackass who stole mine and beating his head in with a torque wrench. And so the cosmic balance of twee is preserved in the world of Hunter.

Most of the old beige Toyota Corollas I see driving around LA are (like mine) missing a hubcap or two.
