Please define focus group and give its importance

Essentially a focus group works like this :

a focus group is a slang term used when a movie theatre audience notices that the projected image onscreen is not in focus.

they yell "focus" a lot, until it comes in sharper.

of course, the projectionist can never hear them due to the noise of the projector, but it's nice to believe that he can.
