You've heard this a lot the past few years too, right? And it's usually your cokehead friends that say it. Why? I'm asking because I bet some of you don't smoke weed anymore, you get WAY too fucked up.

The "default" quality weed these days in metro areas is unspeakably sticky and dense super-skunk, too, isn't this part of it? My gf just conks out, she won't touch it. Scrabble together some "sess" or hash though and she's aight w/it. As mullygrubber says though, you just gotta smoke through that shit.

was a heavy/regular smoker for years in toronto, but pretty much stopped after moving to london a year ago. like nick, i now just drink a lot of wine... i definitely find that my head is a lot clearer!

but it wasn't a formal decision by any stretch. i'm also in no hurry to 'quit'. and i certainly wasn't getting 'way too fucked up' - if anything i was just bored of the whole thing. it became maintenance, of sorts. the main problem i have now is that the quality of weed i've had here in the UK is shit. absolutely terrible. i did manage to get my smoke on pretty good in amsterdam last fall, that's for sure.

jesus this is making me want to smoke RIGHT NOW.

I smoke very little nowadays - also more of a wine imbiber - but, when I do, it's usually alone and in little pulls. Shit's too strong. The last great smoking experience I had was while visiting Amsterdam. I miss the quality found there.

Though I went through a period of daily significant weed smoking in my early 20s, I rarely smoke at all anymore. I don't usually get 'way too fucked up', though I do once in a while, I guess. It just kind of bores me now. If I am not going to do anything but watch a movie or go to bed, it can be nice, but I have too much to do in real life to deal with the related dazedness. On the other hand, I love to hit my roommate's bowl a couple of times before embarking on major housecleaning--it seems more interesting and I'm motivated to get things REALLY clean for some reason.

I have never touched coke and dont plan on trying. Speed once, dont think I'll bother again ('sides, I found it no different to psuedoephedrine anyway). I dont like the manufactured chemicals, you really dont know what youre getting. Besides, Im naturally quite wired up (and have a dodgy heart) so the last thing I need is to be even more wired.

Cocaine just isn't a fun drug. You (OK, I) don't really notice that you're on it (vs. weed/alcohol/psychs), you just know when it's gone and that you REALLY REALLY want more.

I've had a severe hankering for good pot lately (I never smoked often before), but I've lost touch with everyone I knew who sold or had good contacts.

also, cocaine severely fucks with your brain's chemistry. your brain is a VERY sensitive piece of equipment, as evidenced by the tremendous amount of folks who suffer from mental problems (everything from OCD to schizophrenia). all it takes is a little bit more of one neurotransmitter, or a little less of another and you can suffer some very unpleasant symptoms. If you do cocaine enough, you may never be able to experience sober pleasure the same way you did before using the drug.
