Fawlty Towers Reunion episode

I have just heard from my film course tutor (who worked as a set dresser of Fawlty Towers in the seventies before going into acadaemia) that as a response to not winning the best sitcom ever, John Cleese is writing a Christmas special to try and regain the crown. Whether or not he gets this done before he writes that Superman comic is unclear.

Since all the cast are still alive (not including the major etc etc) this is all possible, but it will be hard pushed to think why Manuel or Polly would still be working in a shit hotel thirty years later. WORST IDEA EVER!

Uh, isn't Polly (Connie Booth) very sick? I saw Cleese talk about her on maybe Parkinson's and metion that she was dying.

Speedy (Speedy Gonzalas), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:30 (twenty-one years ago)

That's why he wants to get an episode in before she dies. Apparently he has started to feel a bit bad about claiming most of the credit for FT when Connie Booth wrote most of the storylines (Cleese cannot structure a script for toffee). He wants to give her back her legacy.

You are a bad man, PB.

How did Peter ever get the reputation of being a convincing liar?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

By ILx being collectively gullible?

Archel (Archel), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard they were taking the word 'gullible' out of the dictionary.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Well there was a time I could post stuff and not instantly get some smartarse posting that it was a lie. Still of course when I post the truth you will all come a cropper.
