Is anyone else excited about this match? I'm a Sunderland fan and pre-match nerves mean I've hardly slept.

I'm predicting a 2-2 draw (Smith and Thornton; Dichio (2)) then penalties....

Wish you luck. I've always had a soft spot for Snlnd.

Cheers! I grew up in Sunderland, and though I haven't lived there for 25 years now, I usually manage to go back for a couple of games each season. This season my only visit has been for the defeat against Millwall back in August :-(

But considering the desperate state of affairs at the start of the season (newly relegated, on a sequence of 17 straight defeats, in financial ruin, and with just about the entire first team shipped out to cut the salary costs), I'm delighted (and amazed) that they've got to the position they are in now.

I think it will be a close game today though.

I agree that it is likely to be close. I've been to Millwall twice, following Bristol Rovers, and we lost 3-0 both times, so I think I would like Sunderland to win, but I'm not terribly fussed.

If Millwall win they will be in Europe. This must be stopped AT ALL COSTS.

Up the Lions!

The idea of both the Smoggies and the wretched Mackems reaching Cup Finals in the same season turns my Mag stomach. Sunderland to lose on penalties. Shame Mickey Gray won't be there to take one.

How Sunderland have managed to not score by the 87th minute now is rather maddening. O-oh, and now they're one man less, to boot. Great.

Just like against Tranmere. Some nice saves though.

O fuck...

Sigh. Time to "concentrate on the league". And hope we don't have to play Millwall again in the play-offs.
