...for those of you who can't think of anything to post on the other thread, what sartorial nightmares have you seen other people wear to the club?

for me, it must've been the time I went to a club called Ritzys in Bristol in '92 with a friend. We were sitting quite close to a staircase where the same group of girls kept walking up, doing a circuit of the club, walking up the staircase again etc. One of them was wearing an all in one bright orange body suit with a frilly ruff around the neck. It was the most ridiculous thing ever!

Any club? Uhh, maybe it wasn't a club, but you still shouldn't wear something like that to a place like that. I saw it at Slim's.

A hawiian T-shirt and kaiki shorts.

Aja (aja), Sunday, 4 April 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

is that the same as khaki shorts?

a club called Ritzys

You were damned before you even entered the place. (Your escape shows the effect of paying indulgences over the years.)

I was young and naive.

Oh whatever.

I'm not that great at spelling and it doesn't matter. As long as you can envision (sp) it, you'll be ok. Or maybe not. He was also a fat man if that helps.

Aja, I wasn't trying to get at you, I thought it might be something different from khaki.

and yes, the fact that he was fat must have made it worse. ew!

MarkH (MarkH), Sunday, 4 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

And very tall. And british

Aja (aja), Sunday, 4 April 2004 15:03 (twenty-one years ago)

And drunk

Aja (aja), Sunday, 4 April 2004 15:04 (twenty-one years ago)

my friend commented to me after seeing the woman in the orange that she looked like she'd just been on the high trapeze.

There was this one guy I used to see at house nights ALWAYS wearing this really cool Nordic Tracks t-shirt, but he was ALWAYS wearing it. When I eventually introduced myself to him I said that I only recognized because he was "ALWAYS wearing that wicked shirt, dude!" He took it as sarcastic and pretty much started his comedown right that second. Good.

if you hadn't said that he may have taken you back to his place and opened his wardrobe with a flourish to reveal that it was chock-full of identical shirts.

MarkH (MarkH), Sunday, 4 April 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

lol

Also, all his public appearances in the past year were, cunningly, weekly installments of his living-art exhibit Identicality and my reactions were being filmed the whole time!!!

LC, Sunday, 4 April 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

(that was sarcastic)
