where does the don't fall asleep thing come from/mean anyway? I got a slight concussion in a playground fight when I was six and the teacher told me to sleep it off, and I did.

Cracked my head last night painting the basement. No concussion symptoms—pupils are fine—but 15 hours later my head is still throbbing. I want to take more painkillers, but that'll just upside my stomach. Such a lose-lose, like, pick your poison: headache or mild nausea.
I have to stare at a computer screen all day, which doesn't help any (even when I haven't banged my head the light from the computer screen gets to me after a while).
