Besides not fall asleep, that is.

Go to the emergency room right away.

But first...boil some water and get clean towels.

GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW NOW NOW. Even head injuries that seem "mild" at first can prove to be really serious things days, weeks, a month later.

Check whether you have

1. bleeding from the nose or ears ( or any discharge from these areas)
2. Blurred vision/double vision
3. Nausea
4. Dizziness
5. Amnesia
6. Headache(s)

Anyone who has lost consciousness after a blow to the head should see a doctor asap.

2nd go to accident and emergency, important: get someone else to take you esp if driving.

yeah, best to see a doc.

where does the don't fall asleep thing come from/mean anyway? I got a slight concussion in a playground fight when I was six and the teacher told me to sleep it off, and I did.

thirteen years pass...

Cracked my head last night painting the basement. No concussion symptoms—pupils are fine—but 15 hours later my head is still throbbing. I want to take more painkillers, but that'll just upside my stomach. Such a lose-lose, like, pick your poison: headache or mild nausea.

I have to stare at a computer screen all day, which doesn't help any (even when I haven't banged my head the light from the computer screen gets to me after a while).
