It is a class on silent film; I know one other person staying up to try to get it. I think that only rising seniors will be able to get in.

Instructor:
Cherchi-Usai, P.
Crosslisting(s):
ENG255/455/AH133/233W

Griffith, but the course will include a variety of films from the United States, Germany, Russia, France, and Japan, all projected from pristine copies in the George Eastman House's world-famous collections. Discussion sections will cover the development of film style and technology from 1895 to the introduction of sound in 1927. Issues such as ethnicity, gender politics, censorship, and the relationship between cinema and the other arts (theatre, painting, vaudeville, music) will also be covered.
