SeanCarruthers: Yes
SeanCarruthers: PDA actually, but
Dubplatestyle: heh well basically see i thought ilx could be contained in this box and shut away. but no, now it will follow me everywhere.
SeanCarruthers: Eventually you will have a little converter on your phone that will read the top 100 threads in a comical voice
Dubplatestyle: what a bleak, horrible future
SeanCarruthers: I think it'd be great if all interaction on ILX could only take place via SMS messaging; that way all arguments would be limited to 160 characters, and Aja would suddenly seem more like one of us
Dubplatestyle: well at this rate we're about half way there
SeanCarruthers: And we'd get to see the arty pomo way Momus would abbreviate his words down to fit into 160 characters
Dubplatestyle: "fuck you, darnielle"

SeanCarruthers:

miloauckerman: d00d u suk
Stuart Gonzomoose: no u suk
miloauckerman: no U
aja: What?
Dan Perry: Who wants a body massage?
Dubplatestyle: please kill me now
Ned Raggett: Heavens! ;-)

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 22:52 (twenty-one years ago)

At the very least it would be great if there was a way someone could bridge their cell phone's SMS app so that incoming messages would be autoposted on a specific thread here. Couldn't be any worse than a lot of the other threads.

the surface noise (electricsound), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 22:58 (twenty-one years ago)

eep. i tried to do this at ATP cos i was wondering if any of you motherfuckers were there. my phone claimed it got stuck in an 'infinite loop'! so i gave up, yo.

what's my prize?

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I've started doing this on train journies with depressing regularity. Mercifully I can't actually post - long may it stay that way.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 10:34 (twenty-one years ago)

If I could do it, I would never have a life again. I *try* not to even read/post from home, but it's fairly obvious how unsuccessful I am at that...

Super-Kate (kate), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 10:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Sean, I have the means to do that, but like NO WAY.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

infinite loop!!!111

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:04 (twenty-one years ago)

The inside of g-kits phone, last weekend.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:07 (twenty-one years ago)

B*Witched are inside my phone, yo.
Or at least a covers band.

INFINITE LOOP!!!!!!!!1111, yo.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

sad to say (even though i have a (relatively) low-tech phone) i check FTs referrals via WAP and the ILE blog-view if I'm bored on the bus or something. it's free innit.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

free? thank gawd we have to pay for such services or i'd glue my mobile on my eyes so i could watch it 24/7 (not really)

jesus nathalie (nathalie), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I used to look at ILX on my then exciting and new WAP phone in 2001.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

God, N, you are just five years ahead of your time on every thread today, aren't you?

Super-Kate (kate), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha - I didn't spot the link. I wore ties in 1997 but I was not a girl, so I guess that didn't count.

I am not very proud of the WAP thing. I seem to remember showing it to Emma on a bus and she was appalled.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

still is

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

I want the Internet surgically implanted into my brain. When will that happen?

Hanna (Hanna), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

June 12th

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

-14th. Bring a book.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I have obviously crossed the line, and it feels great.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Neil Young should write a song about this.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I probably would have done this if I had that kind of phone in 2001 or 2002, but not now.
