how long does this war have to go on for before it gets its own category?

Dude, read the newspapers, it's over. Has been for nearly a year.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 16:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I see no reason not to add one, and maybe one for the US election as well.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 16:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I am against it on principle.

Well, considering the political leanings of this board, 98% of all Iraq War discussion would fit nicely in the "I Hate America" category.

Birch Barlow, Wednesday, 7 April 2004 16:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I am not aware of this category.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Birch Barlow is thinking of the "Whine" category.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe there should just be a 'war' category.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i think it all nicely fits under "Asshats"

Kingfish Balzac (Kingfish), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 17:55 (twenty-one years ago)

It's not a war!

Lil' Fancy Kpants (ex machina), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I said before that I wouldn't mind a 'politics: international' or 'international affairs' category. Just making one for Iraq seems wrong (as does making one for 9/11, in retrospect). 'Wars' wouldn't fit when things are just brewing, or when peace is made.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

as does making one for 9/11, in retrospect

A broader category would fit the critical answers:

ILXOR CATASTROPHE SURVIVAL

Dickerson Pike (Dickerson Pike), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 18:53 (twenty-one years ago)

How about 'Bad shit on the news'?

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 18:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I like Kevin Phillips's term for the two Gulf Wars: "the wars of the Texas succession".

o. nate (onate), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 19:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Then again, I could be wrong

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 19:21 (twenty-one years ago)

'Bad shit on the news' is the best suggestion so far.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

This had to be the Vicar. He has been saying the same thing for so long. And now he has really gone and said it.

Farrell's (first) post is classic Farrell. I think he actually meant it, and all.
