I do not do this. My mother did this to me as a kid all the time and it was fucking horrible and damaging.

the idea of a parent doing this is kind of horrifying, i can't believe adults think it is an okay thing to do to other adults tbh

Yeah, it was pretty awful. It's withholding as a form of punishment and it's neither effective nor healthy. I remember trying to talk to her and she'd just look at me and say, "I'm not speaking to you, remember?". Sometimes it would last more than a day.

i think i used to do this! i agree, it's a horrible. i still do a variation of it now which is ignore people's phone calls or block their number/delete them on facebook. it's pathetic.
