CD/record packaging flaws ref: Comsat Angels

So I just picked up the excellent Comsat Angels 4 CD box retrospective "It's History" (super recommended if you like that sort of thing), which comes in very cool (and compact) minimal packaging, but the spindles on two of the CD holders inside are broken, which brings me to my question- is it lame to ask to exchange a CD or record with cool original packaging when that packaging is damaged? I never bothered with my Anth. of Amer. Folk Music Vol. 4 (the inner booklet was a mess), and now every time I open it, I just about jump out the window.....
